Some updates: As part of the rebuild, JA is getting all new wiring. Ryan started making the new engine/trans harness.
The interior will also be refurbished. The steel pipe on top of the trans tunnel is holding up the trans through the shifter opening using a nylon ratchet strap. The original trans crossmember was removed with the old subframe. A new crossmember (built into the floor) will be fabricated like was used on Hellfire.
I think I saw this trailer loading method before on History Channel Egyptian pyramid building episode.
Sled Alley will be fabricating the new trans crossmember, new radiator and intercooler and ECM mounts as well as relocating the drysump tank.
The plan is coming together. Matt at Sled Alley is working on JA and Thomson Auto has the short block just about done.
Things are moving forward.
Thomson finished the short block so we will swap of the top end and the engine will be ready. Bran has the same engine in his Vette and on E-85 it cleared over 1000 HP.
Across town Sled Alley has a good start on the vehicle modifications. Matt and I really like the way the under hood looked and worked on Hellfire so we are sinking the dry sump tank in the cowl again. We added a little more oil volume this time. The system should be 16 quarts when we are done. We are going to make an access in the inner fender so we can service it this time.
We are filling all the odd holes in the firewall and welding up the bars that pass through the fire wall. They always rattled.
Matt should have the transmission cross member done this week.
We should have the new radiator from C&R in 2 weeks. Once we get that we can finish the engine bay.
The car is moving quickly because we have a plan and we have done it before:
