Default First Car - My 69 Camaro

I've been reading on this site for about a year now and joined last week. I bought my 69 Camaro when I was 16 in 1989 - my first car. It has evolved a lot over the last 34 years. A friend of mine got me to try autocross last summer with my 97 Camaro SS. This gave me the bug to transform my 69 into a pro touring style car and start autocrossing it. Before that, I just cruised it to car shows and hung out with friends. I wish I would have done this 10 plus years ago as really driving my cars is lot more fun. Until last year, mostly stock / factory suspension and brakes with 15” Edelbrock wheels. Now, Wilwood disc brakes, QA1 PT upper & lower control arms, QA1 shocks and 18” Ridler wheels. The motor is a 383 SBC built back in 2003 back up by a TH350 transmission. I just purchased a Tremec TKX and will convert to manual over the winter. I'll post more in the projects section as other updates happen.

Here are some pictures - Color is 69 Dover White with the deluxe orange Houndstooth interior - Front seats are 4th gen camaro.

My Camaro's together in 2018 - 97 before adding the stripes and the 69 with the old suspension and wheels

Sick Camaro. That orange interior really pops against the white in a good way. Looking forward to more pictures of your progress.

Thanks for the compliments. Looking forward to sharing more. I joined the Akron Sports car club and started to attend their autocross events this year. Sunday was their last one. So this was the last time for the auto transmission - replacement Tremec TKX. Also, going change the heads - looking at trick flow and AFR. Other goals are to add a 4 point roll bar, change out all the springs & 3" exhaust. Here was my 3rd run:
