Default New project in the shop: 86 Regal G body

Hey all-

We have a new project in the shop this week. Frankie brought us this T type Regal for a full suspension upgrade. He recently swapped in a 454 LSX engine and had the suspension set up for drag racing. Bored of how it drove and wanting to jump head first into the Pro Touring scene, we worked out a Speedtech full Track Time suspension which includes:

Up Front:

Geometry Enhanced Front Upper and Lower Control Arms
Upgrade to Chicane shock brackets for True Coilovers
Hollow Tubular Sway Bar
Quick Ratio Steering Box
ATS Tall Spindles
Billet Tie Rod Sleeves
Viking's New AutoX Crusader Coilovers

Out Back

Articulink Upper and Lower Trailing Arms
Rear Coilover Conversion Brackets
Viking's New AutoX Crusader Coilovers
Hollow Tubular Rear Sway Bar
Currie Complete 9" Axle

Finishing the suspension off is a complete Baer 6 piston 14" brake system with special Speedtech label nickel plated calipers.

He also picked up some 18" Forgelines and Falken Azenis tires, I'll post pics of those when we get them on the car. Enjoy the pics!

Here's what the car looked like when it came in. Spongy drag shocks and DOT wrinkle walls made for a slooooow turning car. Interior was updated with Recaro seats and a diferent sort of shifter, meaning the type that attaches to a T56, a perfect match for the healthy 454.

The start of the suspension install, including our new G Body Chicane coilover conversion brackets. These allow the use of true full coilovers up front. The new Crusader coilover line from Viking is a pretty mean shock. I have them on the wagon now and put them to the test this past weekend at an SCCA event. I am way impressed, the valving on these is wicked!

Sorry guys I got distracted on some new projects, the biggest one being our C10- Click to see it.

As far as Franky's car goes, we got it finished up and it really turned out nice. The suspension really handles fantastic and it's a smooth ride down the highway. Franky flew out from Cali to pick it up and actually drove it home with 3 buddies. There's a true pro-touring car there.

Here are some final pics...
