I made a square tubing brace to go between the door jam and cowl. It is plug welded on both ends as well as weld along the interior edge. It is also tied into the cage down-bar.

Also made the trunk hinge supports to mate up with the DSE tubs.

Still a lot of little details to wrap up and neaten up, even on the parts that feel like they are done. I'm just happy to make progress. I'm going to tie the two forward cage bars that connect to the upper subframe mounts together with a bar that will be under the upper cowl panel. That is my next project to tackle....hopefully soon. I'm starting a new job on Monday so we'll have to see how much time I have.

While it may not be an original idea, it would be pretty cool to paint the car black like your dad's 67.

Awesome progress, BTW.

Cowl panel is filled and fitted up. Just need to prime the back side, punch the spotweld holes and get it put on...... I have several sets of fenders to choose from, but they all seem to fit up pretty well. It'll still require "gapping" everything.

Picked a set of these up to... along with a few other goodies that I don't have pictures of yet. Hoping to knock out the floor (or pretty close) over the holidays.

Thanks - I get a little better with every project...I'm slow, but I know how it's supposed to turn out so I just keeping working at it until it gets there. I love to look at other people's projects in bare metal, like Billy Utley's stuff, Rad Rides, DSE. It gives me something to strive for, but as a part-time/hobbyist...not sure I'll ever get there.

I want to take some metal shaping courses. I know I'll end up wanting to buy more tools - ie: power hammer etc., but what the hell does a guy that spends a couple of evenings per week tinkering need all that for. ;)

Does it look like the seats are gonna work out? They look really cool.
