I've got one of those Fancy High-End Cassette Decks - it was over $1200 in in 1978 Dollars! |

I remember looking at the Carver amps back in about 87 and wanting one but they were out of my range so I ended up with Luxman which was good stuff also the cassette player I bought was like 800.00 and honestly sounded better than the optical output on the CD player . Now I have a Samsung smart phone that somehow makes music come out of built in speakers???? lol

Back in the early '70's --- having a deck like this was today's equivalent of owning HellFire.... LOL

This thread title should have mentioned you will need a bib.
Did the MK3 Jetta come with the shop? |

You must be posting in the wrong thread.... Or you're going to have to show me where you saw the Jetta. |
A big question back then was whether TEAC was pronounced "TEEK", or "TEE-ACK". The store sales guys all had the answer, and of course, they were right.
Kind of like Porsche....one syllable or 2? But I digress... |

In your first post, there is a picture of the building with a blue Jetta to the right. |
Hey GW, I must of missed it... If you sold the house in Wa and the new one isn't done yet...Where the hell are you living??

It all started when we bought a condo here a couple years ago... We're living in it now. Well - truth be known - I spend most of the time either up on the hill sliding down - or at the shop. Gwen and Stella have the condo. |

Finally got some more parts from Nordfab Ducting and got the verticals installed today... ALMOST done with this little project!
There's "blast gates" at each machine for total control... Not bad for a little home shop! LOL http://i919.photobucket.com/albums/a...g/IMG_7005.jpg |

Suhhhweet looking setup Greg.
Them pypes look like the same size that's running through the interior of that SB2 car someone started a build thread on a few years back. :D |
SVPN (Sun Valley Property News) - a magazine that is really only about real estate advertising.. but is nicely done.... did an article for the upcoming Sun Valley Road Rally. SV Road Rally is mostly Bugatti's and Porsches trying to run as fast as they can for top speed... With a "car theme" for this quarter - they did a photo shoot of the shop... and like most of these things - the discussion was much more "in depth" but they cut and paste and leave most on the floor.
Anyway -- if anyone is interested... You click this link -- then click on the July issue (with the Porsche on the cover) .... click on it again and it goes full screen - then scroll along the bottom to find the article found on Page 120 http://sunvalleypropertynews.com/archive.php?issue=43 |
Cool story Greg. The shop looks great.
|
Very nicely done, Mr. Weld. Should have had Stella in there somewhere...
|
Very cool piece, nicely done Greg.
Any idea if they've fixed the "people moving issues" that they had in past road rally events there? |

Good question Lance -- and all I can say is "I sure hope so"!!! They should have learned something from last years mess. But then - that's making a big ASSumption that management paid attention and took action. I'm not going anywhere near the event this year... Frankly - it's pretty boring after the first couple of cars. It's really much more of a participation event than it is for a spectator. |
