No, The width of the rear really has nothing to do with how much tire you can get in there. you can only shove so much in the wheel well. The width of the rear really only changes how much lip you get on the wheel.

Just for example, say you need a 6" backspace on a stock width rear, and you end up with a 3" lip on a 10" wheels. If you narrow the rear 1 inch PER SIDE, you could reduce the backspace 1" and pick up 1" of outer lip for a 4" lip.

Or, say you mini tub and do not narrow the rear, you need a 8" back space and have a 3" outer lip. But if you narrow the rear 4 inches you can do a 6" backspace and get a deeper 5" outer lip

Great info thanks Frank.

From my experience you can fit a 10" wide wheel in the back. A 275mm tire is the safest wide tire to run, but you can also fit a 285 with some fender rolling and trimming.

Do you have any pictures with a 67 or 68 with this size on them

Is the general concensus a 20x10 with a 275 will fit athe rear of a 67-68 Camaro? Are you relocating springs to accomplish thus?

It'll fit on a stocker, but it won't be able to sit low. No way that will tuck under the wheel house. Just depends on what's more important to you.

My plan is to drop it 2" with a Hotchkis TVS kit. Would a 20x8.5 be better or should I just stick with 18" all around?

18" all around is the way to go. 20" is way to big and ends up goofy looking IMHO.
