Thought that the Z28 Tach had a diferent red line too

What is the red line on the Tach? I thought Plane-Jane small blocks with a Tach had a lower red line than the SS and Z-28 optioned models. I've heard that the 67's and 68's didn't necessarily have tach's at all when the 302 was an option, I don't know much about the 69's (whether the Tach was a option package when a 302 was ordered) but I'm fairly certain that if a 302 was installed the red line was higher for that option package than the red line for a standard V8 optioned Camaro.

It has an 8,000 RPM tach with a 6,000 RPM redline. The yellow line starts around 5,500 RPM on the tach.

Most all had:

4 piston front disc brakes
4 leaf rear springs only found on COPO and Z/28
had to be a 4 speed
Did not have to have the D80 Spoiler
Had to have a 12 bolt and most got 3:73 posi
Had to have the 302
Check the fuel line. 3/8 or 5/16
Never A/C
Very few with P.S.
I believe there were some unique exhaust hanger locations for Z's and SS models.

With this much weathering, if someone faked it they did it before it was for profit. I'd give him $5k but know your still going to drop $25k to restore it.

Thats funny, I zoomed in on that tach but couldnt read it, if its an 8 grand tach its a good possibility its a Z. Pop the hood read the cowl tag x77 ralley sport Z , X33 standard Z. Engine block could have been decked, start with the cowl tag

That thing is rough, save it soon.

I bought a 69 Z with the original block about 3 years ago. It was a shell with a verified cowl tag/vin. No real rust. All I got with the deal was the shell, complete motor, JL8 brakes, subframe and a shell 12 bolt. I paid a little over 6k for it. Not sure if it was worth it or not. I was going to do a resto with it, but for now it sits in a storage unit. I knew this car since 84.

I think the only way to tell a real Z is by the vin and cowl tag. I would think there is some online resource to check it out. That was done for me before i bought it.
