So the interior is pretty much... well its something. At minimum I will need patchs for the front floorboards and trans tunnel.
The car was an original 4 speed manual, so I don't know why somebody was tearing up the trans tunnel. Somebody layed down a pretty nasty patch over it with a couple of sheet metal screws holding it in place. There was some rug covering it a few weeks ago, but now all is revealed heheheh.
How 'bout them seats. I can not get the seats to move so I need to take them off and look at the rails, but I am a bit afraid I won't be able to reattach them once they are off.
Right now the car automatic, but I am planning to go back to a 5 speed manual. I'll probably just weld the trans tunnel shut for now, and when the time comes, cut a new hole in it to match up with the five speed.

Cool project! I have a lot of pics as I've repaired all the rust in my '67 Firebird, so if you need some reference images just let me know.

Looks like you have what's left of a deluxe interior.

How about turbocharging the OHC 6? that would make for a unique combination.

You could also use an LQ4 for a cheap alternate to the LS. yes, it's iron, but it's plenty stout, available, and responds well to making power. there are posts on LS1 tech on this engine for a cheap swap, as well as recent articles in Hot Rod/ Car Craft in wringing out the power in these.

Good luck with the build and keep us posted!
