Here is the one I bought.. It is a JMR Portable Punch.. We machined a collet to hold it on a stand & fab'ed a quick stand.. I can remove it off the stand & work in a car if necessary.. works great up to 14 gage metal..

Actually not a lot.
I'm fortunated to have a lot of friends in right places. And I have help them out, doing thing I can do for them. fixing, building, welding, you know, man stuff... One friend brings the steel rods from near by steel factory, price: one case of beer  Another friend teach CNC-machining near by school, programming and machining them, price: coffey and buns. :hail: Another friend ( my goddaughters father) works at same steel factory that made the steel first place,he works as post-processing boss: heat treatment is in his department, price: bag of coffey and bag of buns. So price of those is under 100€/ ($130), not bad, sence ordering one set from US would cost me over 1000€ ($1320) when incl. shipping & import taxes. Okey, it takes time and effort to make all happen, pick stuff up and drop off, desing them, students to make them. ( it's took a long time, around 6 months, then ready dimples waiting for students to heat treatment them it took around two years (they forgot them), them I pick them up and asked my friend if he would take them to factory for heat treatment. It took just 10 days to them to push them in the middle of they prosess. :willy: And now we discover that 4 smaller sizes are not correct material, they didnt get hard enough to cut holes in stainless. Maeby I will have them remade from propper stuff or just that I'll have to make hole w/holesaw or HF pusch set. :( I still can use normal die and pillow, just not the die w/ blade. |
