Argh, I can't see the pictures at work. Good work allowing for exhaust over the axle.

Very cool! Do you guys have any testing completed to show the motion or verify the design? Aside from offering an alternative, why did you guys choose to build a TA setup? I'm so glad more options are becoming available for the 2nd gens. Only problem will be deciding which route to go when I finally start building mine.
Thanks Blake |

What "motion" are you refering to? The design allows 345 tires on the rear with no modifications other than mini tubing. We chose the torque arm for the following reasons. Ease of instalation and set up. NO FLOOR cutting or modifications required. There were/are so many 4 links available we wanted to do something of a different design. Our design allows for lots of exhaust room. 3" over the axle is no problem. There is one bracket that needs to be welded between the frame rails. thats it! if you purchase the rear housing it comes with all the brackets welded on as well. it is Very compliant on the street as well as the auto x and road course, to be honest the only adjustment we have ever made is to the shock damping from street, autoX, road course. Our testing and the results from the events we have been to confirm both that it works VERY WELL and is as fast or faster than ANY of the competitions parts. |

Thanks Blake. I figured the design was very similar the a Nova's setup. I just didn't want to assume. Motion wasn't a great word to use. I was just referring to how the rear end would respond going through it's movements, anti squat, etc
Sounds like a good idea and I'm glad those of us with 2nd gens have more options now. |
Did i answer your question?
|
Oh yes. Thank you.

Now all you need to do is build a torque arm for chevelles and you will make me Happy.

Here are some new pictures of the parts finished and installed.
The Torque arm is virtually the same as what we have for the First Gen Camaro, so the performance proven, same install , No floor cutting. if you are planning on running a 335/345 rear tire you will have to mini tub obviously, but that is IT. NO other modifications to the frame, trunk floor, back seat. Only the shock X member needs to be welded in. There is plenty of room for 3" exhaust over the axle. This is our new Second Gen Test car, it has the Chicane 9" floater rear in it as well as the StreetFighter front subframe. I will have some ride height pictures next week. http://i1235.photobucket.com/albums/...TorqueArm4.jpg http://i1235.photobucket.com/albums/...TorqueArm3.jpg http://i1235.photobucket.com/albums/...TorqueArm2.jpg http://i1235.photobucket.com/albums/...TorqueArm1.jpg Here is the basic kit shown with everything that comes in the kit. http://i1235.photobucket.com/albums/...oTorquearm.jpg And here shown with the Chicane 9" it is also available with a standard 9" aswell. http://i1235.photobucket.com/albums/...mWChicane9.jpg |
