It's mainly a comfort thing IMO. I've only driven Jeffs 68 with a Tilt and it was nice to make the adjustment so the controls fit me a little better. I suppose it's like power seats though. Once your seat is in the right position, it really doesn't change...unless your wife drives your truck and then every setting, radio station and mirror are different and some how 52,000 napkins magically appeared from Starbucks and are shoved into every door panel, an empty water bottle is in the center console, a bag with nothing in it is on the passenger floor and the truck looks like its been driven through a mud bog. All of which happens on a "quick run to the grocery store".

Same here! Except the tank is on empty...

My stock non-tilt column needed to be rebuilt after 45+ years. After doing some research I found it was going to cost as much to rebuild the stock column as to buy a new Ididit tilt column. That made the choice a no brainer. So I now have a tilt wheel and I am amazed how much easier it is to get in and out of the car.

What part number did you get and from where? After mounting my seats i hate the feeling of the steering wheel position. Im leaning towards getting it painted gloss to match my steering wheel. I also noticed that you can get the dimmer switch option. this looks like the correct one. The only thing i don't like is that its not collapsable. There should be another option. Use a tilt column from another car or something

Ididit does make collapsible columns.

I have been considering one as well, but to be honest I have been in three different first gens with tilts and everyone of them has a little bit of movement when in the adjusted position. I am not sure I like that feeling especially when racing. It will actually rock up and down (very slight play). Anyone experience the same? I have decided to stay with stock column for that reason. One of them was an ididit.

I put an Ididit tilt in my car around 2001. My old factory non tilt one need new bearings. I like it a lot and installation is pretty easy (got the correct bolt in one). No issues with it since then.
