I have US Gear 3.90s in my TA. I love them and so far they are quiet. I only have a few miles on them though. I also haven't done any events with the gears. However, it's a big difference compared to the 3.42s and I'm very happy at this point with them.

That's good to know; I've been told to stay clear of the 3.90's because they are very noisy. Anyone else using 3.90's have plenty of miles on them and are happy with no noise issues?

Really? Never heard that before. I've actually put 3.90s in a number of six speed cars and never had an issue. Maybe I got lucky. :EmoteClueless:

FWIW - I'm running Motive 3:73's in a 12 bolt and they seem as quiet as the 3:31 OEM gears I replaced, but I'm running a 'quiet' gear drive and Flowmaster exhaust so quiet isn't relative to my car. :)

I've also heard numerous arguments of 3:73's being inherently noisy.

I think it really comes down to who sets the gears up for you. The guy that did mine has over 40 years experience and specialized in drag racing setups in his earlier.
