i'm gonna go auto X with this.
I know of a couple 2-rotors that are in the 450-500 range. Mine should be around 320 hp with stock turbo. It isn't too difficult to do with the right turbo, and proper porting/mods. My buddies 2nd gen smokes BUILT supra's and hangs with bikes. You can make all the power you need with a turbo rotary. NA is a little tough to really make power tho. Seems like you exoplored that with the PPort! :unibrow: |

If you really know turbos, you realize there is a wide range of variables effecting spool times. I'd agree with you to some degree. A big turbo with a small turnine housing will take a year to spool. There are plenty of variables in the equation, and we've built this motor specifically for this application.
I'll start out slow and let you know how the T2 does on auto x. Thanks for the comments. |

read through this I couldnt help but think that newer cars seem so easy to work on cuz they don't have rust holes.
This is a cool project i have allways liked the RX-7's like yours reminds me of a 944 which I also like the looks of. Good luck with the project and keep us updated. |
thanks for the comments. I always think that older cars would be easier to work on because they have HUGE engine bays and less/no electronics! :D
These cars did get some criticis when they came out. people were saying they where too much like the 944s. I definetly dig both cars, but since this is my 2nd Rx7, you can tell which one I like more. |
my car prior to my current 64 cutlass was a 95 z28 and changing the spark plugs on that thing was about the hardest automotive task i have ever done it took like 8 hours and no its not cuz i am retarded :) i am currently replacing floorpans and the spark plugs on the camaro were harder. you are right for what you gain in engine space and simplicity you lose with fixing rust and doing bodywork. i guess its just trade offs.
