i know it would be really expensive, but a full restoration on that could bring a nice price when completed right? i mean, it would be expensive to do that, but it has the historical aspect to it and its also an extremely low milage engine

woul dbe cool what it looked like after a good steam cleaning bath

s10kool 06-17-2007 06:29 AM

well it actually dosent look too bad i bet it isnt rusted very bad at all

i bet it would clean up decent and would be very good platform to restore - just water damaged -

When a Ferrari is 1/3 the price after being under water for a day, well.....

50 years or so entombed in a extremely humid environment has wreeked extreme damage. I say leave it and put it on display.

Come on... I say roll down the windows, drive it through the car wash a few times and bring it to Barret Jackson with all its documentaion and "original mud" !

Honestly... thats such a real shame ! Good intensions, but bad planning !

Bandit Ls-1 06-17-2007 01:29 PM

dam thats the worst outcome ever....what a shame.

ProTouring442 06-18-2007 08:42 AM

You know guys... if you really look at it, I don't think there is much rust. It just looks to be filthy! Maybe there wasn't any air in there? No air, no oxydation... I dunno, but it sure doesn't look rusty to me. I sure wouldn't expect to be able to find shiny chrome on a bumper like that.

Can't wait to see pics after someone gets it with a pressure washer!

Shiny Side Up!

IMO, they're getting MUCH more media coverage/buzz on the internet because of the condition of the car. If it would have come out of the ground in decent condition, it would have been in the news for a few hours then forgotten. It will be interesting to see what comes of it.
