sick of sanding

well my finger prints are gone now and all I have to show for it is some shiny paint, wow is black a pain. Its been awhile since I posted but we've been busy as hell, here's what been going on. It runs (yeah) I painted everything besides the roof and the trunk, due to the summer being almost over thats all I'm going to do with it for now and try to get it on the road and work the bugs out, I'm going to put the stripes on it this week and shave the door handles and drip rails this winter, but enough talk heres some pics. We'll be at the madison goodguys show on aug 15-17. see ya telly

sometime ago I realized my goal to take it on the power tour wasnt going to happen, then the car craft nat. and it sure wasnt looking like I would even get to the good guys show one hour from me, so I had to make a choice get it done enough to work the bugs out and enjoy it for a month or waite intill next year and I'm sick of not having any fun so its coming out!!!! and I sure didnt want it to look like crap so I painted some of it, its only paint and I own a bodyshop I'll get my paint rep to give me some free paint, oh and this thing is far from done this winter its getting some cool body mods custom front and rear valances and maybe rocker extensions. All of you know how it is I just want to drive it!!!!!

tellyv 08-04-2008 06:58 AM

Had to move some stuff around this morning so I took a pic outside

I'm not sure the car looks really good how it is, I guess everyones feedback will help me decide.

tgvettes 08-15-2008 07:23 PM

That type of wheel I would leave all polished, If you had 3 piece competition style wheels then I would color match or do a dark grey center.

I can't help you there--it would look great either way. Maybe a photoshop would help you decide. Congrats, man. You did an awesome job!

Enjoy!

Car looks great.

I wouldn't touch the wheels. The car needs a little bit of bling to make it stand out. If you black out the wheels I think the car will lose the look.

tellyv 08-16-2008 04:38 PM

fab 5

thanks for all the replies, I recieved a fab 5 today at the Madison Goodguys show I'll get some pics out on Monday, I'm freaking stoked the car isnt even completely finished and the response has been awsome.

Ummgawa 08-16-2008 04:47 PM

Someone here said they'd give up their 69 Camaro for a Cuda. I'd have to agree. Yours is damn sweet.

well sunday was a very typical day in a hot rodders life, pulled it out of the trailer and guess what it didnt start so after getting pulled into the fab 5 parking area I went to work, I had a dead short to the fuel pump somehow I managed to smash the fuel pump wire between the tank and the floor pan not a bad fix but it was a little embarassing, other than that we had a great weekend lots of compliments and about a half a box of buisness cards gone. thanks for all the replies I'll kept posting as I make more mods. see ya telly

Just wondering do you have any plans for side mirrors? My project is very similiar, but I'm not sure what to do. Our michigan law says I have to have a driver's side mirror. Not sure what to use....one driver...or both...and what kind? What did you have in mind for your project?
Thanks

John

DOOM 08-28-2008 06:03 AM

I love it!!! its super nice and it looks very straight as well.

I wouldnt blacken out the wheels..

tellyv 08-28-2008 08:38 AM

I'm not sure what I'm doing for side mirrors, I probably just leave them off unless I find something cool.

tellyv 09-09-2008 03:44 PM

It's pretty damn hard getting my own car done with all the customer crap in the way so this thing would never see daylight unless I built it this way, and theres more to come in the future!!!!
