Maybe he just wants a more drivable car. Like something with a working top. Rain... :_paranoid

i have a different view of this also .

we built a car this year for my dad , 55 nomad , he has had the car for
32 years . he has stated in the past he would be burried in that car . he sold the car at sema this year ! i was amazed , mother pissed off , brother pissed off ,everyone around him suprised . so i asked him why he sold the car .........................his response was , it was to nice and all i wanted was a driver , i cant drive the car for fear of tearing it up.

so maybe he dont like a nice car

seeing that it was mentioned the car had issues....and green mustang on ebay made mention of issues (had 75 miles on the clock....overheated like mad) it is seeming more like these cars get tossed together way fast (do you ever see them get driven on the show during the reveal?)

I am guessing half the time they just skip over things that are going to take too long.....like say properly jetting a carb, adjusting auto transmission linkage, bleeding brakes....I kind always wanted my car done on there (I barely have enough time to keep it running these days and it would be nice to have it "done") but I feel that I would get a half working un driveable pile of crap back. something with a misc crate motor shoved in it and a auto trans with a slop paint (the ebay mustang made mention of the paint being a 10 footer)

You know that they have to get terrible shrinkage since they bondo the cars and within a few hours the primer is going on, then in a few more hours the paint follows. I have had filler shrinkage on cars that I worked over a period of months with time spent in the sun to cure between.

This is exactly what I was thinking...also didja happen to see in the episode with that 56 chev that they did (pearl white with the teal flame/graphics on the side for the surfing instructor guy)...They showed a quick glimpse of the body shop guys applying bondo to the driver's qtr panel...holy smokes, there must have been at least a gallon of mud in play...the whole qtr was slathered....skim coat, indeed...:wow:

The differance in opinion may be by those who can afford to swap cars like pants and those who cant? Weather it be due to financial reasons or sentiment some people would love to have a one week car and would work through any problems. I would keep it for 2 reasons sentiment and I like cars.
