Very nice fab work, looks great.

As for the tail lights, you could just put an 1157 LED bulb in it...On my '67 2 Door wagon I did the same thing removing the gas filler from the side of the car...Built a panel in behind the tail light assy and used the gas filler cap off of a VFR750 Interceptor motorcycle tank to seal it off...You have to fill the tank slowly though, even with a vent tube...
Great build with some great ideas...Kepp 'em coming... |
Thanks for the info! I am basically doing the same thing just different cap. Do u have any pics of yours, curious to see how it looks!!

Awesome build.Really coming along great.

The car is in paint jail right now almost 2 states away from me, so I cant get any pics...I'll look thru my photos and see if I took a shot of it...
Were you gonna sprin load it?...How do you plan on latching it?...I used a set of rare earth magnets on mine...It will never pop out... Rick |
I had two ideas, one of which was making a small spring loaded lever latch, spring load the light in the housing.
the other idea was a magnet.. and i couldnt remember what those magnet were called till you just reminded me lol! So I might look at that method now.... -Gary |
Got the body back off the frame, get it ready for the media blaster. You can see the frame all boxed in and the tube x-member we made up for it.

I agree on the Nova dash. Good choice.
|
That thing is looking sweet! Makes me want a hotwagon bad!
|
Looking good Gary!
Did you use a local source for media blast? Mind sharing? Did they put the primer on too? Looks pretty solid, cool project. |
Yes he is local, owners name is Jeff, great guy.
Multiblast, Montrose, MI http://www.michiganblastking.com/Home_Page_2FK8.html I had him seal all the parts also for me also yes -Gary |
Thanks Gary!
|
Cool project, not sure how I have missed it.
|
Nice idea on the dash. The car is looking good!
|
I have been massaging dents out and fitting all the door and fender gaps, etc. got it looking pretty good. Patched up the couple rust spots found after the blaster. Bout ready to start some body work! I pulled the inner fenders out... prolly gonna end up making my own cuz I hate how they fit and they are hard to make look good. Also will be modifying the grill and surround next.

From the depths... I still have the wagon, I let one friends car get in my garage and havent gotten time to work on the wagon in awhile... Not to mention I have had other projects of my own that ended up getting in front of it too. The exhaust is all done now and the steel cowl is welded on the hood, thats about it haha.
Considering ditching the air ride system and going with coil overs instead. Seeing what options and info there is out there on it right now. Will hope to get the car back home very soon and get some more updates! -Gary |
Love wagons!
Dig that Chevy II you sold also! Nice work so far on this project. |
I like the idea of the gas fill behind the light. Looking good!
|
Car is back home and time to get to work! Been sitting in my buddies garage for damn near a year.
I am going to get rid of the air ride and switch to coil overs and am working with the guys from ABC Performance in getting the right set up for the car. Great guys to deal with. Few pics of it... http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b1...y/image-3.jpeg http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b1...y/image-1.jpeg http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b1...y/image-7.jpeg http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b1...y/image-4.jpeg http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b1...y/image-5.jpeg http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b1.../image-10.jpeg http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b1...y/image-9.jpeg http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b1.../image-11.jpeg |

From the depths... been awhile since I posted anything! I am still working on my wagon lol... been side tracked with so many other projects and friends cars!
I got the body work "roughed" in on the car now, and started mounting all the stuff under the hood and making inner fender panels and filler panels, etc. Hope to be posting more pics soon of some good progress... I got back from GoodGuys Columbus and got a dose of motivation seeing so many nice cars and getting new ideas! -Gary http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b1...67A4D44A0A.jpg http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b1...7DCED4A8B9.jpg http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b1...6EAE09F207.jpg http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b1...491F0BE198.jpg http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b1...A4E0ED4E39.jpg |
