I actually laugh at these people, they have never built anything in there life!

Seems no matter what you do there will always be people that think they could it better and cheaper. Well there will be a 3 ring binder in the trunk for these folks. It'll contain all the build pics that shows haw everything was done, and also every reciept for every nut, bolt, and part!! See hwo they liek it when I prove em' wrong!!

I agree. Not that I have spent that much YET, but if you want a really nice customized car its cost and that is what you have built. Great job!

I am doing the same with both of my projects and man it sure is shocking when you total all of the numbers up including labor. I've also added projected costs into my spreadsheet.

Labor what the hell is that??? Niec to be able to do it yourself ain't it!1 Only bad thing is I can't bill myself for my labor.

Lets see if I add labor in to the cost. We'll say 50 days average work time of 4 hours, 14 weekend days averaging 10 hours each, thats 340 hours total, times 2 men brings to 680, plus the 60 hours my painter put in for free, total hours 740. At my current shop labor rate of $50 per hour, brings the total to $37,000 labor alone!!!

Zactly!! Adds up quick.

You should see the shipping charges to Hawaii... Try adding $400 to that $950 and you'll be close. The cost of living in paradise... Not really worth it! I probably have $5,000 in shipping for the parts I have had to order for my 67 Camaro.

I boo UPS and Fed Ex!

Most of all I boo companies that either don't ship to Hawaii ( it would surprise you how many there are out there ), or will only ship 1st and 2nd day air.

Here is my last order from Ricks First Gen
It's not much, but shipping was almost $400! WTF? the box's weighed nothing...
What I don't understand is that I shipped a complete Tremec TKO 600 kit from Keisler and it was only $300 to ship. I think some companies rape us on the Handling charges... It's not all shipping!
I should have shipped my car to the mainland, moved there, completed my car and shipped it back to Hawaii... Hahahaha, next time!

I too have gone down the replace every screw routine with my build, I do hope you guys are at least getting 15% to 20% off prices at Ricks. It seems once a month they send me a discount code especially for orders over 250 bucks. Might not seem like a lot but on a 2k order 400 bucks in stuff aint bad. I never order with out it.

They got one going now, discount code - sand
