the update this week:

The Koni coil-overes are installed in the rear.

This is the lowest setting.

I dont really like the look of this, but for now it works. Eventually, I'll get gauges that are all the same style and brand. I'd also like to create a custom mount under the stereo unit so there arent gauges clustered on top of the dash.

Close up of the oil lines and fittings. These little things add up quick:willy:

Yeah the little things add up real quick!! I like you build very interesting:thumbsup: What kind of exhaust are you going to run

 thanks very much!
I am doing an interchachable mid-pipe. It will be either a straight pipe, or a high-flow cat... depending on weather or not I need to pass emmissions. LOL

Then I'll put a borla muffler in the center and shoot the pipe straight out.

Single exit:unibrow:

Everything is together and ready to go.
We are just trying to get it started now. The ECU is hooked up and is communicating with the laptop. All sensors are working, fuel inj and pump is working. We just haven't got a solid enough fuel map to get it started.

If anyone is good with motec and can give me some pointers, I'll buy ya a few beers when you come to AZ.
Thanks

I don't know anyone in your area who is good with Motec, a guy around here by the name of Mike Johnson who did that in the 90's does it, but I have no idea where he is at. Call Motec and see if they have a programmer in your area.

stylEmon 04-16-2007 02:54 PM

i dont know if we need a programmer, but maybe I could see if they have a turboII map we could use.

I think we just need a solid map to start with. the NA map doesnt get us close enough becasue of fuel issues (smaller injectors, higher compression...)

That guy Mike Johnson, he was a rotor head?
Thanks Mazspeed.

There is a guy at Motec (Simon) that will be helping us the next couple days.

She's running!!! Very happy!
Damn is she loud tho.

Apperntly, the N/A base map that we had sucks, even if my car was N/A.

We are having a little problem with one of my trailing coils. looks like it isnt firing. Hopefully we can get that worked out. I dont want to have to buy a coil pack just yet.

Car is running really smooth. The engine builder says he's never seen a rotary run so smooth with so little engine vibration. I guess the engine balancing paid off.

We put an exhaust on it. Very simple system. Its a huge MagnaFlow muffler with an exit before the rear passenger tire.

The problem with the coils was just a simple wire in the wrong place. Got some new custom leading spark plug wires. Since I relocated the coils, the wires were too long.

The car wieghs 2500 lbs. And that's with the spare. :wow:

I still need a new alternator, and under-drive pulley and some type of wrap for the wire harness. And the care needs to be tuned under load.

That's it... And I'll have some pics tomorrow.

That's great, sounds good. Congrats. As you know, Rotarys are very loud.
