9-18-09....ok time for an update ..removed the cowl vent and flushed out the panel ...installed power window kit this kit is awsome and works very well there is just something kool about power windows on a classic mustang ...finally came up with a plan for the power door locks and auto door opening ,i mounted the latch system in the body door jam and then blended it into the existing frame i think it almoust looks factory and after the body work it will..heres some pics...

fasterpatrick 09-28-2009 09:14 PM

Ditch the 20's, the car looks way better with some tire showing. That's my opinion, other wise your car is looking great.
Patrick

waynieZ 09-28-2009 10:03 PM

X 2 I agree more tire.

70rs 09-28-2009 10:09 PM

X3.......ditch the 20's. Looks great with more tire.

byndbad914 09-28-2009 11:18 PM

wow, so surprised to see so many correct responses :unibrow: typically everyone on this board seems to think the bigger the wheels and the more rubberband the tires the better, so make the vote x4

The muscle cars look the best with 17s or 18s, but any larger just looks stupid.

NIL8R 09-29-2009 05:24 AM

Me too, no 20"s, too big in my opinion. Love this build Barry.

aussiebj 10-19-2009 11:42 AM

10-19-09 Ok finally get a chance for an update ..been working on the small details not really worth pics ..went back with the 17`s as i think it has a much tougher look and will be more drivable...hung the front sheetmetal even has a hood on it now ..just temp while gapping fenders and setting in the radiator support....started working on the side scoops i do not like the overlap look so i am flush mounting them ill show pics...also removed the 8.8 rear and ordered up a new 9 inch assembly with 31 spline axles 3.50 new posi and center section as well as willwood disc brakes, should be here in a week or so then it will be a roller again and i will roll it outside and take some pics. Thats all for now ....here are some pics

groovyjay 10-20-2009 08:12 AM

I think the 69-73 Mustangs get away well with 20" wheels due to the big body. Paint the spokes on the 20"s and put them back on!

waynieZ 10-20-2009 03:19 PM

It looks good.Nice work.

aussiebj 11-18-2009 08:26 AM

11-17-09 Ok finally time for some updated pics..I decided to loose the old 8.8 rear end it just looked to busy with all the brackets and i had a custom rear end made its a ford 9 inch housing filled with Strange 31 spline axles a brand new strange center section with a eaton posi and polished 3.50 gears as well as Wilwood disc brake assy.....also worked on gapping the doors and fitting the drivers fender ,radiator suppor and dr inner fender ..the hood is also installed...here are some pics...

Here you can see that the hood and hood scoop are installed ..I opted to use stock rear inner fenders as well as stock hood hinges i wll have them powder coated.....as i needed a starting point for the hinges and i built the rest of the inner fender from here....

aussiebj 12-16-2009 06:29 AM

12-16-09 Ok time for an update...The company i bought the rear brakes from dropped the ball and sent the wrong ones so after a 3 week wait they showed up ..i built up the rear end and installed it under the car ..had to refabricate the new upper and lower mounts as well as relocate the coil overs and mounting set up.. and reset the rear...once the rear was back where I wanted it I ordered a custom made drive shaft (only 44" long)....as for the interior I had to remove all the sheetmetal that I had already fabricated for the stock looking interior, as i changed the direction the interior I was going..it will now be all black leather and power, lets just say im bringing some new touches into the old..I will post pics when its all installed....
Here are some pics..
Here is the upper mounts that were made from 1/4 steel plate as u cant just buy fabricated mounts for a late model setup onto a 9 inch
