Got a update!

The boys are working late tonite doing body work on the shell..

http://i1015.photobucket.com/albums/...n/IMG_0675.jpg

Finished modifying the front fenders & inner fender wells last week.. got to finish working the metal on the front fenders but all body mods are complete..

Gained about an inch of tire clearence & the front fenders match the qtr panel mods..

Cris,

I love the way you got more room in the quarter panels. That is how I was going to do my Camaro if it was not so low. Are you trying to get this ready for the RTTC II?

Brain! Shhhhhh....

Cris@JCG 12-07-2010 09:27 AM

Thanks Brian!

The goal is to have the car done by RTTC II! but I still need to work out all my suspension which is coming along but don't know if I will have done.. Right now I just want to get 1/2 the body work done & in primer.. & then get the suspension done..

I finally drew the line! I just want my car done ASAP.. no more custom stuff..I want to have a car to enjoy @ least by spring of 2011.. more than likely I will have the car in primer for a while till I shake the car out & then tear it apart & paint it with detail work..

Had the opportunity to see this car in person just a few days ago. It is absolutly phenominal. The level of work going on in this shop is pretty amazing. Beautiful work!!

73CPCAMARO 01-21-2011 07:49 PM

Cris,

The car looks very nice. I recently experienced that "finally on the ground" feeling too. Congratulations and keep it up!

protour73 01-22-2011 06:31 AM

Cris, this is an awesome build to say the least, but PLEASE tell me where you got that heater delete panel? If you fabbed it, PLEASE say you can make another!!! NOBODY has a heater only delete for a 2nd Gen. DSE has one for 1st Gen and an A/C-Heater delete for 2nd Gen. I have scoured the internet looking for one.

Can't wait for more pics on this killer build.

Cris@JCG 01-22-2011 05:17 PM

Thanks guys! I have the car sitting in the middle of my shop & everytime I pass by it .. I puts a big smile on my face.. Now the next stages to follow..

The punch list: I just ordered the engine mounts & steering shaft kit to set up the motor & transmission so that my buddy that used to work @ Borla can come over & make jigs for the headers & mandrel bend a set of custom headers.. build a transmission support that ties into the body.. The goal is to run the car @ the stance it is.. bit lower in the front.. More than likely I will have to cut the tranmission tunnel all the way to the back for the driveshaft..
Cut for muffler clearance.. goal is to stuff exhaust on the underside as much as possible.. Rick's gas tank on the way! I think! Plumbing.. 4 point cage, firewall to fender support bars.. My radiator from AFCO arrived last week..

Engine will be a small block 406 with a T56 for the time being.. LS engine is to come in the future.. QMP will be building me a 427 motor! but for now I just want to get the car done.. I don't want to go for another year or two till I get it done.. I have my 69 that I have to finish that has been put on the back burner till I get this one done..

Cris@JCG 01-22-2011 05:20 PM

The DSE ist gen worked for my car.. as long it is a non A/C car..

Thanks Doug! Stance on the car has been a key factor on all the work we did to modify the qtrs & fenders.. See Ya Next Month!
