If you watch the first video I posted of driving at Thunderhill in the "new to me" Mustang….. I think I was hitting at least 50 on the straights….

And you know what --- I was grinin' ear to ear and having the time of my life.

Like anything else we do - it's about LEARNING and having fun doing it. Every time I go out - I think about how many people NEVER get a chance to do any of this… So just the fact that "we're" out there is FANTASTIC.

That pretty much sums it up!

I've always felt the slowest person on the track was still having a real good time........in their mind and that's what really matters. They're usually as much or more fun to benchrace with as the fast guys. Especially if the size of their eyes when telling their story counts! :D

Yes we had her out, we had some issues, but it was a blast. I have a lot of learning to do "feathering the throttle" is one of them (DAMN drag racers).

I also got to take my truck out on the asphalt oval there for some extra seat time..that was as fun as the road course.

I brought a video camera but no one used it,, so here's the only phone vid we have from the first session

On Thanksgiving weekend i got to drive this on the 3/8 dirt oval i got 3 20 min sessions

My new toy

Very nice truck
In my Pantera group one of the vendors brings one
out and the driver and I have ran our Panteras together
He is an SCCA National champion several times and a very
good driver.. We go and what we call play.. his truck and
driving skills are better but one of the few I will go wheel
to wheel hard and not worry about bending things up

I have a few videos of the back of the truck.. he will
come up on me and pass me down the front straight and
then slow up so we can go thru the turns side by side
We went past a Cobra replica earlier this year at 110 mph
thru the turn at Firebird with me on the inside and he was
on the outside.. not sure if the Cobra knew what to do

good times.. and lots of rock chips on my car from that truck:headspin:

One of the issues we had was a loss of oil pressure in right turns ..It had an oval track pan and p/u so I fixed it.. i shortened the p/u and made another trap door boxing in the p/u in the pan (a hinge was added after the pic was taken..While i was in there, i changed all the rod and main bearings too

before and after

How about Nucking Futs! :unibrow:

Kidding, whatever it takes to be back on the track modulating pedals works with me - and I have no problem what so ever with dirt ovals!
