If I was you -- I'd just have the guy on a retainer and he'd come and re-do your floors every 6 months.

No -- the guy warned me what will happen if I do "X" to the floor... welding splatter... fluid stains etc. What he said WOULD NOT happen is that it wouldn't peel up with hot tires... and that's guaranteed... but I didn't put it in the hot tire area. I just wanted the tool area to be clean and nice looking. He also said he can repair the floor if I mess it up - or he can come back to top coat it if it gets messed up somehow.

I just am not willing to blow another 15 grand polishing the floors just to please you. Gwen said she didn't need it for her new hot rod to be beautiful... LOL

More importantly --- I KNOW I'm a floor abuser.... so why waste the money and then I have to stress out over them.

Just be sure to promptly wipe up oil drips etc. I have the same coating in my clean shop where I don't work on stuff. Stuff leaking out of cars like brake fluid, gasoline and gear oils will eventually stain it. Diamond polish like I told you earlier you tard.

You work on cars? I thought you had a mechanic named Mark and your work shop was in Michigan. :headscratch:

Actually I'm getting old and cranky and tired of working on crap. I have a junk lower back and each time I work on a car I end with my back killing me for the next few days. I used to love tearing into stuff but now I end up thinking how sore I'm gonna be .Waaaaaa.

you need to get a bunch of minions to train to do all the heavy lifting while you sit back and do the easy tinkering.

After getting the quote for diamond polishing... My only thought was: "If I had Charley's money - I'd burn mine..."

Good one Vince!

Actually - the Lotus doesn't leak (Toyota motor).... but the idiots that installed the race pan (Lotus dealer) just didn't bother to tighten the plugs that are in the dry sump bungs...

It's little wonder I started doing all this stuff myself years ago... since I always have to go behind them to clean up and make sure things are done right.

6 movers showed up this morning and started ripping in to it! OMG I hate moving - even the THOUGHT of moving - but it's gotta be done!

After 9 years -- a guy can collect a LOT of "stuff".... but it didn't seem to faze them.

The lift had already been taken down and palletized -- so the rest was "take stuff off the walls and shelves and pack it up.

9 AM......

This shoulda been the last to go.... like the Jackson Browne song "The Load out"

Now roll them cases out and lift them amps
Haul them trusses down and get'em up them ramps
'Cause when it comes to moving me
You guys are the champs
But when that last guitar's been packed away
You know that I still want to play
So just make sure you got it all set to go
Before you come for my piano....
