So back she goes in the trailer...
http://i850.photobucket.com/albums/a...psb259acda.jpg The winch is the second best thing next to the trailer itself. I can load it on my own in a few min. http://i850.photobucket.com/albums/a...psfa94dffd.jpg I have packed up my bucket of new Spek Pro gauges (like the ones they use in NASCAR). http://i850.photobucket.com/albums/a...pse5d9a0e6.jpg Plus a whole box of misc. goodies. http://i850.photobucket.com/albums/a...ps3c0b7e98.jpg Hopefully in a few weeks it goes back in the trailer under its own power. :woot: Or it blew up. :censored: |
Good luck!

Killer stuff. Love the Spek gauges in black.

That is one mean machine.

What are your plans for your first event?
|
If all goes well and the car is running in July, I am signed up to run a half mile event for top speed on an airstrip in August. I may hit some local drag strips first to make sure its safe and running straight. After the half mile probably a 1 mile and try for my 200mph and then fix up the rear so it can turn properly. The shop it was at didn't really deliver what I asked for so some of it needs to be done again. Nothing major, but still frustrating.

Awesome about the 1 mile run. Good luck and keep us posted. |
Have I mentioned how much I love this car:headscratch: :hail:
What is left to get done before her maiden voyage in August? |
Over the next month I should be getting the ignition system, finishing all the oil lines, trans lines (plus coolers for both), power steering lines, and re do those things not done properly by the last shop. The muffler on one side was tight and hanging below the floor about 1/2" but the other side was left loose. When I tightened it, it's trying to press through the floor. The 4 link bars are also too long. The rear was centered, but once pinion angle was corrected, the rear pushed back about 3/4 of an inch too far with the bars adjusted as short as possible. Now I can pay for another alignment as well. :G-Dub:
They also bent the centering bar because the tabs were too close together. I will have to get it reinforced to make sure it doesn't collapse as it is the start of a kink. Funny how I did the front in my garage and camber and caster was almost dead on with a measuring tape, but the part I paid for has to be done again. Once it gets home I have to get the windows back in, bolt in the seats and belts and then wire all the lights etc. After that :drive: |
