The body is being sprayed today as well. This is the last of the parts to paint, so this thing should start going bak together and looking like a car again here really soon.

Is that a step header on the drivers side? Just curious why its different than the other side?

Looks great though :D

Thanks for the comments! -

The header has a step on that side for manufacturing purposes. The passenger side has less back to back bends than the drivers side (which has to clear steering etc.) so is easier to do in one piece.

Thanks in advance, Chris

Chris -
I found a pic that should give you an idea: the old firewall is braced then cut, leaving a lip from the previous area which is then integrated with the overlaying new piece.
Hope that helps.

The 240 is one of my chassis fabricator's car. He is using our Fast Track IFS/IRS in the stock unibody. It will get an ls with a 6 speed. Should be a cool, lightweight auto x car

sixtnine 03-18-2012 11:48 AM

What "cutt-n-buff" process do you guys go by?

GoolsbyCustoms 03-18-2012 12:54 PM

I'm sure they have a special "Roadster Shop" gun that lays it down that slick...,Surely

A couple of updates for this '69.

Decided to add a splash of carbon fiber. The c/f will tie in with a couple of elements we have planned for the interior.

Body and chassis are together with the beginnings of some more red accents planned for under the hood:

GRob 04-03-2012 11:58 AM

Looks awesome but I would powdercoat the springs red. The blue just isn't cutting it.

Don't worry - we will run the stock blue ones until we are done with the suspension tuning and dialing in the car, then we will replace them with red springs so we can adjust the spring rate for the best ride and handling without having to paint multiple sets of springs.

Best '69 EVER!!!

XLexusTech 04-28-2012 05:02 AM

Amazing, love the subtle red, but the hood and gill red take too much subtle hint away, with just the mirriors and grill it would be perfect.. Just one mans opinion.
