The "shed" is looking great Greg!!! I love setting up a new place. Seeing all of the barn wood you have in there reminds me of a cabinet job we just did. Here's one of the cabinets. Reclaimed wood from Montana.

We're not going that rustic.... and the builders brother is a local high quality cabinet maker. How convenient is that? LOL We actually haven't even figured all the finishes etc out yet. We're pretty sure we're going to use "salt wood" out of Salt Lake... there's a guy down there laying the wood out in the salt and sun (30 acres of it) and it's easier to work with since it's actually dimensional.

Thanks Greg! I never figured you'd go that rustic in your house. :confused18: we haven't done too many of those. Thought they'd look good in the shed though. I haven't heard of the "salt wood" before. I'd like to see pics of that when you get going. Oh and the brother thing is convenient. :lol: if you ever got a question or need an opinion on anything to do with the cabinets I'd be glad to help. Been doing cabinets for 35 years

I just haven't had time to get much done down there -- just little stupid things. I've had way too many mid day meetings with architects - designers - bankers - insurance brokers - and keeping Stella happy with hikes...

Had to finally call in the troops and have my air lines run by the plumber even! This is something I've always done myself - but I need air to function and can't seem to find a day or two where I can get 'er done. Had to bust out the hand files to make a post mount for one of the regulators before they could plumb to it. Got to fire up the MIG machine and make a half a dozen tack welds even!! WHOOOO HOOOOOOO. Since I still haven't hooked up the giant sucker machine to the "dirty/dust makers" -- I don't want to run the Burr King etc... so will get that done next === then I'll be somewhat functional. Toss in two trips this month -- and not much more will advance.


Oh -- and 3 full wasted days in a effort to get the '33 road worthy.... UGH!



Tore the '33 apart to try to figure out an overheating - no water circulation issue - NO IT IS NOT AN AIR LOCK....

Made a minimal mount for a regulator..... using crude hand tools - they work amazingly well you know... lots of people forget how effective they can be.

Since I sold my Tahoe and Trailer my wife agreed we need a Jeep. What size are the Wheels & Tire and was there a lift kit installed.

ps the pictures of your off road journey are fantastic.

Marty --- This is Jeeps "AEV" version --- so it has the JK350 AEV conversion...

American Expedition Vehicles (AEV)

This is their 3.5" lift... with the 35" tire. Check out their website.


Love the ride and the handing is great given the aggressive tires. It's quite - solid - and the Rubicon version I have has the front and rear lockers on a button and a sway bar disconnect on a button.... and the hill holder button works fantastically! I know nothing about off road stuff... but it was fun to do this trip -- and the Jeep worked just as advertised --- and I drove it home at 75 MPH when I was finished rock pounding off roading. Gotta love that!
