Value

Matt,
Cut a 69 Charge 500? They built less than 500 of those cars, they are more Daytonas than 500s I think the Mopar guy's might not be to happy to see 1 made better than stock, but then again most of then are stuck in the '70s.
But if you decide not to cut it up the 500 I've got a line on a real nice 69 383 2 barrel Charger.
All that said yes changing a 69 500 will kill its value or limit who would want to buy it, but it is your car have fun with it, enjoy.

yea, I guess I needed to hear it from someone else. All ill do I guess is yank the motor and tranny, rebuild it to be fairly stout, and leave it alone and cruise it.

Charger 500

Matt,
You can do bolt on's like tires, wheels, brakes and suspension upgrades that will improve the car's performance without cutting. I know that you can fit 295/35/18's in the rear fenders on 10" wheels with a little work (rear spring relocation). Personally I dig 500's and would like to someone build one out.

Modding the 500

Matt,

Kevin is much more the expert here, he is in the car biz. And, I agree with him. That was the basis for my original question about keeping your mods to a minimum.

All that said, it is your car and your choice.

If it were me, I would keep it bone stock. Just my opinion.

By no means is it perfect, but it is in great shape for sitting for so many years in a garage. Id like to put 17" or 18" wheels on it, yet not really hack on the suspension. how do you think 17" Magnum 500's would look on the car?

the 500

Matt,

The car looks really good. Has that classic car, original, unmolested look. That is great.

As for wheels and tires, photo shop a few choices and then decide. But, like you said, do not hack the suspension or go too big and rub the body. That car is pretty rare, very original and you want to keep it in good shape.
