As promised, some interior pics!
The goal with the interior was to achieve a rally/race vibe but without the 'bare bones' feel of a full-on race car. We ran a custom dash pad with a carbon gauge cluster and dash side trim. The tach, speedo and small gauges located in the console are by Stack. Console is an OEM piece with a couple of tweaks like the hand made gauge area, carbon trim and Cobb delrin shift knob, also serves as the location for the stereo remote.

To enhance the rally/race vibe we added some touches like the dual flip switches for ignition and start and some F1 inspired rotary switches to control lights, wipers, etc. The seats are Recaro Sportsters with custom made rears to match and red Sparco harnesses to tie in nicely with the door and glovebox pulls in the same belt material. The rear package tray was also custom made to compliment the seats in the Recaro style. Door panels, rear quarter panels and headliner are all by Marquez Design and trimmed in suede and leather.

Really nice job!

How did you screen the white lettering on the CF dash?

Thanks.

Nice thing about viewing these pics with a tablet is that they don't have a keyboard to be concerned about when drooling. :wow:

Gold standard right there.

Roadster Shop 07-12-2012 04:10 PM

Thanks guys, we appreciate the responses. We are finishing up a few minor things that we didn't have time to complete before Columbus. We will have it out early next week and get some good exterior shots and post them up.

scottysimp7 07-12-2012 05:22 PM

Wow, super sweet! I tend to like the more bare bones race inspired, but this looks perfect. Not to much, but no too little. Well done

Garage Dog 65 07-12-2012 05:25 PM

Are the valve covers custom on the car ? I couldn't tell if it was a custom milled cover or if your folks added the details to an existing cover then body worked and painted.

Loved the entired car ! The flatness of the top of the intake/rails/injectors/covers was very well done !

Thx !

Jim

garickman 07-12-2012 05:41 PM

Where might someone find those rotary switches in the dash?

Viperlover 07-12-2012 07:39 PM

You guys totally nailed it with this car. :hail:

ErikLS2 07-12-2012 09:48 PM

Amazing is all I got to say. Perfect amount of red to go with all the black.

waynieZ 07-12-2012 10:35 PM

I'd like to put my window swithes in the console like you did beautiful job!

Thanks Jim - we were originally going to machine them but it turned out easier, and perhaps quicker, to add the details to an existing, plain cover. I think they came out pretty nice.

Thanks! When you really only have 2 colors to work with it is a fine line on having too much of the accent color. Of course it is always subjective, but I think we found just the right balance.

The handles have a nice look with lines of the door, I believe they are actually BMW units from a 7 series. They come with the Marquez door panels.

I found out when the plastic handle broke off and I had to go to the BMW dealer to get another one. Apparently that is a common occurence because they always keep a few in stock. I think the one I got was for an E30 something 3 series. I'm starting to think they're all the same.

Mine lasted a year or so, and I'm guessing yours didn't fair so well either.

sokoloka 07-16-2012 08:52 AM

Absolutely amazing!
This may have already been covered - but what gauges are those?

That is AWESOME. I love the door pulls. Simple and gives it a race car interior look to it.

Thanks man. The car is local. The owner actually lives less than a few miles from the shop. We are bringing it up to Car Craft Nationals this weekend and then plan on delivering it back to the owner sometime next week.

Thanks. We wanted to give the car a race inspired interior with out it looking too "race car-ish" (if that makes any sense). i think that the few touches like the door pulls, knobs, seat belts, etc... gave it that feel without taking away from the finished street car look.

Thanks
Howard

Anybody have an idea on how they did this???

Thanks
Howard

Amituk 07-20-2012 02:30 AM

Thin coat of Paint almost likely.

Powder coat would be too thick and would effect performance of the rad.

If its an ally rad, then black anodised would best bet

Autokraft 07-20-2012 12:44 PM

That is one sweet lookin car :hail:

It is not annodized. annodized aluminum that has been welded changes it moleculary and will not annodize consistently around the welds. Paint works best and does not affect radiator performance.
