Awe inspiring. What a great setting for a home. Not being a contractor, I've been the general contractor for my first two homes and getting ready to do it again and just the dirt work going on for your private residence is just mind blowing. Everyone's an artist, nice vision...beautiful home Greg.

The house is in The White Clouds Golf Course - so the brighter green amongst the sage brush really stands out at this time of year.... Our house is the little spec to the far right just above the tree line. It's all by it's lonely there. So that's all he'll see, is me! LOL

Too much snowfall here for that Wayne... so we spent extra money on insulation -- highly efficient heating -- There are TWO roofs on the house - one insulated and on top of that a whole other roof called a cold roof with a Boston Vent.

The Living room floor is at 6273' ...... Snowfall depends on the year. Last year not much - maybe 3' at the most - the year before there was 6 or 7' on the lot.

I'm sure you've had a few revisions since you showed me the plans at the Hellevue house....the kids suite (Charlie's) in the back has a garage under it right? And then how big is the garage under the house in the front?

Solar, geothermal loop, windmills......I'm thinking not. I would be interested to know what mechanicals are being used in a place this size and the climate it'll see. I've been involved in a couple large residential builds and it's always interesting to see what kind of systems are used.

If we were out of the city of Sun Valley... we'd have had to do geothermal etc. The "Mechanical room" is very "commercial"... LOL
I have no idea what all of the systems are other than the house is a mix of forced air gas (air handlers) and heated floors (like in the mud room). There's only one A/C unit - but there are pads and plumbing for 3 total. We just don't think we'll need it so we're only starting with the one - which covers the master bedroom area. The house has 600 amp service... and a 2" water main.

Yes, you have a good memory! Charlie's suite is up over the 3 car garage (the angled part of the house)... it's more like a padded cell actually. With locks on the outside. And no access to the frig.

Under the house is an oversized (understatement) two car affair we refer to as the "hot rod garage". It's an effort to keep a couple of the cars away from skis - bikes - golf bags etc. So 5 in total... upper for the drivers... lower for the hot rods that are being driven. The rest of the crap can rotate from the shop to the house etc. The upper will hold Gwen's Cayenne - the Jeep - and the '40 Ford P/U if Pinkee's ever gets back to work on it. : > )

There are 30 single lots in the development.... we're just the first house to be built. There are 4 or so other lots that are sold - but nothing built or planned for them currently. I think our builder is going to start a house for a client on Lot 3 (we can't see that lot from our house). Everything you see behind me is BLM land.... and our lot is 1.6 acres.... and the lots below and to the side of us are large as well... neighbors shouldn't be an issue.
