It ain't that big... but I like the name! LOL Quote:
Wayne --- The driveway goes up from the street and around one side of the house to the NON view side (actually the front side) and there's a huge turn around there for the upper garage. All the driveway width - grade - and the turnaround are mandated by the Fire department. They have to have access for their fire trucks and they have to be able to make a 3 point turn in the turnaround... Fires are a BIG <understatement> here since the big fires in 2014. Lots of new regulations etc. We can't drive all the way around the house. |

Sweet house Greg, now all you need is a chair lift for ski in ski out.

I kind of figured that the back of the house was actually the front when you posted the picture of driveway and garage behind the house. Or is it actually a house with two fronts? :D
How will you surface the driveway when done, concrete? I'm assuming a plan is in place with where to push the snow too on the hill side of the house in the winter time? I love stuff like this, thinking outside the box and really building something special. I'd be out there onsite everyday if I was building it. |

Push snow? As much snow as you'll get in that neck of the woods, I'd install a heated driveway. We have them here in the ATL, and if we get 4" of the white devil, it's a miracle. |
So what Airport would I fly into as I am going to make this a Destination
Found it -- Magic Valley Regional Airport Quote:

You drift the cul d sac -- having the wife stand in the middle so you can go around her a few times -- then rip up the driveway nose into the house side @ a 45... then do a couple doughnuts in the turnaround.... and rip back down and do it again. Quote:

This has been a really fun project with all involved. We have a great team of folks that all enjoy working together. Personally I try not to go up every day. If I go up - it's at the end of the day or lunch time.... they don't need my help! Driveway is going to be pavers and blacktop. No heat except the "aprons" of the garage areas. It would cost $10,000 or more PER MONTH to heat the driveway. I'd rather buy stuff with my money. And there's a zillion companies here that go from excavators or lawn care straight to plows and blowers in the winter. Quote:
Most of the time you can use a backpack blower to "remove" snow, it's so dry and fluffy here. When it dumps - everyone has a service that comes and takes care of it. Quote:
HAILEY, IDAHO (Sun Valley) is the airport not Magic Valley - that would put you in Twin Falls... Quote:
Only if Charlie let's me use his. Quote:
You can just ride here. |
