Thanks buddy! When ya comin' over?? Move in date has been moved up to March.

For fun - and to check the positions and angles (aim) of various exterior lighting components - we fired up the view side of the house --- and the fire pit.... Terrible iPhone night pics but you'll get the drift.

The firepit is an old "cone" from a mine..... and the log set we had built to fit. The logs et all are all metal.

Most of the "major" landscaping was put in just the week before we got snow (snow doesn't leave here until April or May).

About where I was standing when taking the night shot of the outside lighting..... I wasn't as far out as this or using the wide angle lens on my good camera that this was taken with.

That's incredible Greg.

Nicely done Greg, thanks for sharing.

I'm loving the great big soffits and no gutters... Landscaping looks nice, cool fire pit (is that a 3/4" gas line feeding it?), how bout some interior pics? **drool**

There are gutters - heated even! You just don't see them as they blend into the facia.

Yes 3/4" line to feed the beast! I cranked it up and the flame was over 6' high.... And was ROARING.

I'm not going to share too much of the house -- just because it is "the internet" -- so no interior shots. Sorry. I've purposely not shared much of this build with many. It is our personal residence -- not like "the shed".

Greg's shed

Very nicely done
I see you also have plenty of Solar on the roof
and Landscaping done before the inside is complete

There is NO solar -- What you're seeing is what's called a Boston Vent. Houses over here have TWO roofs on them -- one is insulated -- and then they build another whole roof on top that is open to atmosphere in an effort to hold/keep the snow on it. So to get circulation of the cold air (it was 1* here this morning) it has that big vent on the ridge line.

PART of the landscaping was done in an effort to get it in before the cold and snow.... otherwise we'd be doing landscaping this spring well after we've moved in. AND the size and amount of trees etc required heavy equipment. So all the trees and large shrubs were done - and there was a push to get the exterior stuff done before it got cold. Now - everyone is inside. There must have been 20 people working inside today. 3 tile guys - 3 or 4 painters - couple guys have one room set up to stain windows - two guys setting cabinetry - 4 or 5 guys were doing other trim work.... it's a complete cluster in there right now. Tomorrow there will be 4 or 5 stone masons starting to build the fireplace - then the kitchen stone - and there's a couple stone walls that need to be done yet inside.

Because of the size of the trees -- they started in one area and basically backed their way out and down the driveway as they went... The trees don't look all that big next to the house -- but these aren't the kind a couple of guys pick up and carry off up the hill !! LOL Here's some pics of the effort....

This trees trunk is about 8 or more inches in diameter.... and the tree is probably 25' tall already.... Even with a crane - they struggled to get this one where it needed to be. The root ball was about 6 or 8' in diameter!

NOW you can see the size of some of the trees..... Compare them to the mini excavator.... LOL

Thank you! It's been a super fun project.... We love our builders and all the craftsman (which is what they are) working on it. I think a lot of people end up tearing their hair out doing projects like this... but so far... we've had nothing but fun.
