What is the year and model of your Camaro to come with those fender flares factory? Or are they? Who makes that pitman arm or is that one of your fab pieces?

Flares look just right. Not too much. They flow nicely with the body lines. Who did them?

I have seen them if you are talking of the spectra Camaro. While it is an impressive and respectable car. Visually it is not what I am looking for. Those are a bit much

Any more updates on this awesome build?

You guys are funny... lol
As with every part, there was a glitch but I did get my rear housing powder coated and new center section with 3:00 gear. The axles have to be returned as my bearing retainer/park brake will not clear them. (I did send it to them when they built it). So unfortunately, I can't assemble the rear completely, or the brakes etc. The bearing retainer almost made it through the wall, but I stopped myself. So all I have is this for now... http://i175.photobucket.com/albums/w...ps14f0a006.jpg http://i175.photobucket.com/albums/w...psf27b558b.jpg |
Funny how no matter how much time, thought and discussion is put into custom parts it just seems like you have about a 50/50 shot of them actually working right out of the box.:bang:
I'm guessing the axles was what you were waiting for and now are waiting for again. What else is happening on this beast these days. :secret: :secret: you must have more cooking than just the rear diff.  |
Sorry to hear about the snag. You'll get it though. Glad to know progress is being made on the car. Unlike some others, I'll wait patiently. :D

I can't wait til this car is finished. :hairpullout:

:cheers Fuel lines and painting parts etc are keeping me busy when I get a chance to work on it. |
Moser is at least fixing it right away no prob. What bugs me even more is when someone says they will do something and then doesn't. A few weeks ago someone was building custom dashes for a second gen. I asked for a template on the face of it and was told it was no problem. This way I could tell him how far the dash could be lengthened for my application with the firewall shoved so far back. I was then told it was traced out and ready to send. Nothing.... So I call and leave a message saying I did not receive it.... Nothing again. So that is held up a couple weeks and now I look for an alternative. :twak: If someone doesn't want to do these little extra things just say so. Its not exactly a cheap build so its not like some one is thinking I'm not going to pay are they? I was more then willing to pay what he wanted to do the mod. Can I swear on here.... better not. :hairpullout:
|
That is a weird story. I could see them saying no they don't want to bother. Or yes but I have a bunch of things on my plate.:headscratch:
I need you to finish this thing. I can tell you that's a fact. |

Then I have a painter say no problem he can come look at it at my house, his mother lives down the street. After he first claims to lose my #, then he forgets, then 6 months after first contact he actually makes it to the house only because someone else I know knows him and he takes notes etc and..... nothing. Never heard from him. The first time it goes to the fab shop for the chassis (I was told 2-3 months) I get it back 18 months later. It goes to the garage for fab work again for a what I was told was a few weeks and I get it back about 8-9 months later. Almost nothing from the initial list from day one changed. All the major work was on that first list and then the bill went over what I said I would spend and then stop by more then I want to say. It took months to rack up half the bill, and then in 2 weeks the bill doubled. Weird... I live in a city with very few cars like this and very few places to bring it to. I know when its done I will be happy but some times the frustration of it all. :smiley_smack: |
Hang in there and persevere... everyone hits those speedbumps and potholes... although you may have hit more than others. :bang:
We are all waiting (patiently) and rooting for you. Keep truckin! :bigun2:  |
I get the axles back today from Moser. Fantastic, I can install them. But wait... they removed the wheel studs to machine them and seem to have forgotten to reinstall them or even send them with the axles. :bang: Someone shoot me. :bigun2:
|
Moser should be over nighting them to you! :weld:

Why do I always have to ask for updates on the Ultimate Camaro:headscratch:
:y0!: Is it done yet? |

Your funny. lol (Its Steve BTW) I didn't think anyone was still paying attention. I will post some pics this weekend. There has been a little progress with more things in the works. Just ironing out some details. I am however still waiting for my dash. This process has been very slow but to prevent any bad feelings I will leave it at that for now. Hopefully it was worth the wait.

Finally after having the axles re-machined, the studs sent back after they forgot to put them back in, the brake discs machined to not interfere with the taper on the studs, the caliper bolts sent that were missing and then re-purchased because they were too short and then the clip that holds the pads in place sent because it was also missing, the rear end is installed. I'm pretty sure if everything was right that would have taken me an afternoon. lol
