18's OR 18's and 20's

I'm undecided on wheather I want to go with 18's all the way around my Firebird or do the 18,20 combo. Anyone have experience with either/or and what are the pros and cons? This car is not a daily driver.

Plenty of photos on the home page at the bottom where you can check out both combinations. Why did you leave 19/18 out?

Good call on both counts and just to confuse things a little more, 19s and 20s work well too and the 1" stagger is more contemporary unless you're going for more rake.

What year Firebird?

Here's 19s on the back of a 68 Camaro

and I think they fit just right. 69s and 2nd gens can handle a 20 better IMO.

As mentioned the first question is do you want 'rake'? Rake can be achieved through your suspension and/or rims. In the end its going to be a personal style choice and depend on your overall car attributes. I'm assuming you have a 'level' ride height, is it lowered or stock height? Do you like a little tire or do you like low profile. 17's with 50s can equate to a 19 with 40s (roughly). I find the best thing to do is have a person look through car examples (100s on this forum, pro-touring, team camaro) find a look and stance and then ask that owner/builder for the details. Sometimes even the rim choice itself will sway you one way or another once you see it on a car.

If Boze wouldn't have already dipped into my pocket we would be talking. Those wheels are the best new wheel I've seen for a while.
The reason I went with the 19/18 combo is due to a stock front sub and 345mm on the rear. I wanted to stay with a 26 inch tall front tire which is the factory spec but keep the sidewalls the same size.255/40/18 With a 27.4 inch 19 in the back it works out that way. Now if you are running a 275ish 19 out back with around a 26" tire like was stock then I would probably run the 19 up front to keep the sidewalls close. Now if I would have went with a aftermarket sub and a 275mm I would have run the 19 as well.

Thanks Brother! I really appreciate it! And I agree with your tire/wheel sizing rationale 100%!

My car is a 69 model and I've considered the 18/19 combo but everything I'ved looked at in those sizes is way too expensive for my budget.

18s, 19s or 20s

As far as I know some manufacturers do not have 19s on all their models.
I like the Intro Titan's. not available in 19s. only 18s or 20s.
I like the Billet specialties Vintec, only in 18s or 20s.

I agree that the difference between 18s front and 20s rear is big. 18s front and 19s rear would be a lot better.

I think these are 18/20... Not 100% though... not a big fan either (may just be the rims)

Personally I think those black wheels "dont" even come close with the wow factor as the chrome billets do ecs on that year of car who ever owns the white Bird that thing is like SEX sweeeeeeeeeeet. nice ride
