Tuned and dyno'd, the results are...

SAE: 498rwhp and 470rwtq
STD: 509rwhp and 480rwtq

I took the day off and took the car to HiTechMotorsport and had it tuned on a chassis dyno. The baseline pull with the stock LS7 tune put down SAE 468rwhp and 436rwtq. After some tuning, it made SAE 498rwhp and 470rwtq... and that's with no cool down. Casey and I took it out for a drive after the tune and it's amazing. It pulls hard from the bottom and never stops pulling (until I hit the 7100 rev limiter). Not bad for a baby cam: 220 / 244 @ .050, .615 / .648 lift, 110 LSA.

I'm extremely impressed with HiTech Motorsport. It was obvious by the facility that they take a lot of pride in workmanship. They gave me the full tour and they have some really cool projects going on.

I'm stoked, my goal was 500rwhp.

Nice #s; that torque curve should make driving very very fun!

buickfunnycar.com 05-08-2008 09:36 PM

That's impressive...!

Amazing how quickly it got to top RPM too..

Isn't that just the greatest feeling...?

James OLC 05-08-2008 09:38 PM

That's great my friend - Impressive numbers!
It's amazing how responsive these LS7s to a good tune.
Enjoy:thumbsup:

XcYZ 05-08-2008 09:42 PM

Thanks guys. I'm really happy with it, it's an amazing motor.

James, your Katech motor should make some serious rwhp!

Tom.A 05-08-2008 09:47 PM

Cool

camcojb 05-08-2008 09:55 PM

have them do a printout converted to std instead of sae; you'll be over 500 rwhp, and many guys use the std numbers.

Great job, gotta be a blast!!!!!!!!!!!

jeff hanson 05-08-2008 09:57 PM

Sweeeeet!!! Now where's the John Force burnout:thumbsup:

Cool B-Day.

XcYZ 05-08-2008 10:13 PM

Awesome, thanks Casey! And thanks for letting me be your shadow and hover while you worked (that has to be annoying, lol)

Hope you liked our test drive...

mazspeed 05-08-2008 10:29 PM

Nice Scott. Great numbers. Is the car done yet?

XcYZ 05-08-2008 10:33 PM

Thanks Mike. All that's left is the back seat needs to be recovered. It's at the upholstery shop now. Oh, and I need a new dash pad. So it's that close.

Ahhhhh, how about some new pics. Had some good light the other night...

You mean STP.. STD is.. well... not good..

We correct to STP.. only the OEMs use SAE (which is a lower number)...

c.schulz 05-13-2008 10:23 AM

Hey Scott,
Havent followed things on your car in a while. But what a surprise to find you have come so far in a short amount of time. Will you be making it in time for the Power Tour? If your in a race with Jody your a couple steps a head..
Are you both going? I hope you have a great time and be careful with those cars.
Beautiful job Mister!!!
