Heim joint clutch rods
Who manufactures the heim joint clutch rods for 1st gen camaro's?
Is there a worthwhile difference in pedal feel and feedback? Thanks! |
You might try Speedtech. I just got one for my 70.

Edit - Found them: http://cmc.speeddirect.com/mmSPEEDDI...000_Actual.jpg http://cmc.speeddirect.com/itemdesc....%2D125&eq=&Tp= I saw that Mary Pozzi made her own, I'm tempted, but for $90 these appear decent. |
I made my own as well. Probably cost me about $50 in materials. There is an appreciable improvement in the slop of the linkage, and it does move a bit smoother. I think the adjustability is probably the greatest benefit though.

Thanks Jeff.
Did you use aluminum or steel tubing? Couple hours of recreation to fab them? |
I used Chromoly steel, overkill but whatever. Cut tubes to length, clean up the inside bore to get the threaded insert to fit. Welded the inserts and that's it. Very easy if you have the factory rods to work from as a template of sorts.

I was hoping to source some smaller bungs similar to these:

Yep, exactly. I used the ones that look like A in your picture above. They're not too difficult to find.

I've been happy with my stock z bar setup. :unibrow:

I think these will make it even easier. If they have the right size for you, obviously. Hope it helps. |
