Chevy pattern clutch master bracket

6 Attachment(s)
I had this proto typed for a 70 Camaro project we are building and I found with a few design changes will allow it to fit a few others cars. We test fit on a 1967 Chevelle, 1967 Camaro, 1970 Camaro and a 1969 Camaro. Slight modification required to fit 1st gen Camaros.

I'm having a bunch made to offset the cost and I am offering them for sale to anyone that could use it.

Its CNC machined from 6061 aluminum natural finish.

Mounts at the brake booster/master cylinder studs and x2 1/4" studs that go through the firewall. You must drill the 2 holes in the firewall.

Mounts most masters with a 2 1/4" bolt pattern. We use the compact Wilwood masters on all of our builds.

Prices start at $130.00 each and includes x2 5/16" studs, x2 5/16" nuts and x2 1/4 x 28 studs and nuts. Comes assembled and does not include master cylinder, hoses or pedal adapters.
We may put a kit together if these move well.

Dealers are welcome. We can engrave your company or project name on the flat section for that custom touch.
*Dealer and large quantity discounts available.

Now that is bad ass!!!

cwylie 11-11-2013 06:22 AM

Does it use the stock pedal??

garickman 11-11-2013 09:01 AM

Nice Vince! Looks like a killer piece.

Vince@Meanstreets 11-11-2013 09:56 AM

Thanks for the interest guys.

Cwylie, yes, it uses the stock pedal. It also works with the Clayton pedals(70 camaro tested). You may have to redrill your pedal. From all of our test cars the stock rod hole lines up perfectly since it lines up with the factory clutch rod pass through hole.

I'll put a complete list of parts needed on my web store to make it easier to work out. I'm putting a kit together as we speak.

NorCal72 11-11-2013 09:59 AM

Vice, you can put me down for one. I need the rod too. I have the Clayton pedals. PM me if you want so $$$$ for that and the X member. Thanks

Great, i'll even install it for free!! I feel like you'll be getting the first full kit.

Thanks again for all the interest.

Could you make one for 62-67 NOVAS?

Vince@Meanstreets 11-11-2013 10:57 AM

as soon as I get a test car or a good outside and inside picture yes!!

Do you have stock man trans pedals?

edit: looks likes yes. You would just use the two top holes for master mounting. You could drill the two lower holes to run a nut and bolts through for more bracing.

ma73z 11-11-2013 11:14 AM

Damn, I just welded my DSE one to the firewall this weekend :(
That's a nice looking piece

With all the response...maybe your machinist should have got this done faster.....LOL :drowninga:

Vince has some really cool ideas, once he gets caught up on some of the work he has at his shop, we can probably look forward to some pretty cool things coming from Meanstreets Performance.

Yes he does. I was just at the shop Saturday and drooling over the builds he has going on. My chevelle should be up there soon and wait until you guys see the custom stuff the two of us have planned.... :bigun2:

What is the part number and price for the master cylinder?

When will these be available? I'm not in a hurry, just curious.

Thanks,
George

I'd be interested in a package deal: bracket, master cylinder, and stock pedal hook-up for a 79 Camaro.

Thanks,
George

Great looking part at a killer price Vince

Looks like a really nice piece. Similar to what I fabricated out of steel but much prettier of course. I will give you and anybody looking to make a kit out of this a tip. McMaster Carr is a great place to get theaded hex and rod ends.

Thanks! The part we use to do was 1/8" steel but I found a great machine shop to work with. Mostly cause he keeps the same hours I do. 24/6.

yep, I live there....they even keep a coffee cut for me at the counter. LOl

We will be making our hex rods. No one makes a combo threaded part. 5/16" and 3/8". I enjoy being able make stuff from scratch. Its just fun.

Awesome bracket Vince! I haven't seen anything come close to being that nice.

I haven't modified my firewall for the steel bracket yet. Will this fit on my 68 with a Wilwood 7/8 bore manual brake master cylinder with stock pedals? I don't have the master or pedal mount in the car yet so I have no idea where the MC push rod lands on the brake pedal.

I don't know how you find time to design parts, work on cars, and help all of us on Lat-G. I see your posts all over the place. 24x7 is right! :thankyou:

Thanks, it was a part I made for a few of my client projects and I thought I'd run a bunch more and try to sell retail.

Yes, it will fit a stock firewall and you may have to drill your clutch pedal. Most already have the hole for it. You just have to verify the hole location from the pivot. Your stock pedal bracket will locate everything for you and the man and auto bracket is the same.

Find the time, I really don't but without the help of my buddies like my machinist @ Creations Unlimited aka "Dstryr" i'd go bat crap crazy. Yes, it really is a 24/7 ordeal. :relax: But I love doing it.

cwylie 02-11-2014 07:35 AM

How much for the kit?

Ok cool! I figured you had the clutch linkage all dialed in. I was curious if the 1/4 or so bracket thickness that spaces out the brake master cylinder works with a manual MC. I see your pic has a power brake booster. I'm assuming the minimal difference over direct mounting the brake MC to the firewall is made up with the hiem or clevis adjustment correct? Sorry if I'm repeating myself just want one of these and hoping it fits my application! Please let me know when the complete kit is available. :thankyou:

you just adjust your master or booster push rod out for desired pedal height.

It will fit a manual master set up.

It works on a 69 Chevelle no problem.

I have to find a picture of a 70 brake booster firewall area.

Looks like the 70 is the same. Bracket will fit 68-72 with a little bit of work.

You will have to trim the steering column mount plate opening on the firewall to have the bracket fit flush.

I'll have to get a 70 clutch pedal to verify the ratios.

70 top
69 bottom

This is a comparison of the bracket I made 14 years ago before all these cool parts were available and the new one from meanstreet performance. The new bracket will look much better!
