Lets get this started! When the truck came to us, the original cab seemed to be in ok shape. But as any experienced builder knows, its what you cant see that will haunt you.

After starting the tear down it became evident that this cab had a lot of issues that obviously weren't seen. So we dismantled the cab, sent it out to get blasted and primed, and have now begun the process of repairing and customizing the cab.

here are the pictures.

Thanks. it will be getting one of Our Scott's Hotrods C-10 chassis with all of our components

As for the having it blasted? We had a situation a few years back where we had dipped and coated a car. after the car was painted some remnants from the dipping caused it to eat the paint around spot weld seams and had to have it all redone. They use a plastic media to blast it. Also that is why we had to remove the inner cab structure, so it could be blasted internally and properly remove all of the cancer.

Mild top chop.Wait till you see it will look good. There will be several mods on the top.The back window channel you see now is brought down lower so the factory rear glass will line up with the side windows on the doors.

Justin

SWAPMEETCRAZY 11-26-2013 06:32 PM

Am i to guess u are goin to change the rear cab roll to eliminate the cab seam and smooth that roll out...Somewhere I saw this to late to do mine...was it u who makes that piece or someone else???.......jim (calling u in am about cowls)

FaBrycation 11-26-2013 06:57 PM

All of the new metal on the back of the cab that you see in the pictures will be just as it is when the chop is done. At this point, all we have to do is cut and lower the roof to meet the new window height.

Yes we make the cowl panels. Ask for Justin when you call.

Brycen the part I was curious about was where the cab seam is over the roll above the rear glass....I've seen a new piece formed that puts a nice new roll and eliminates that seam..Thought Justin or maybe it was Brothers that offered that...It's subtle but really changes rear cab profile...thanx....jim

Amazing watching this fab work come together!
Why are the rounded corners cut out in those end panels?

Jeff-

It's only because the piece is not finished yet. The step was to deep to do it on the bead roller so they are being made separate and then being welded in. Finished photos will be posted later today.

Naw, sorry I hadn't yet. At that time I was about ready to start on my truck. But, that was before I decided to redo my Chevelle, which has since spiraled way out of control. I have told several people I literally have every piece to do my truck......HRE wheels, LS2, 6L80 tranny, Baer 6-piston brakes, NOS hood and NOS L/R fenders, etc and I just need to get around to starting on it. But, I promised myself not to until I finish my Chevelle. Now, suddenly C10's are coming on strong making me very anxious.

Thanks guys, we take a lot of pride in our work and are happy to share it with those who appreciate it.

Just glad we have the means to do what we love.

Tad bit of a delay because of the holidays, but here's a few more shots.

The back is all finished, and now we are getting around to the firewall. Not a whole lot left on the cab.
