When the truck came to us, the original cab seemed to be in ok shape. But as any experienced builder knows, its what you cant see that will haunt you. After starting the tear down it became evident that this cab had a lot of issues that obviously weren't seen. So we dismantled the cab, sent it out to get blasted and primed, and have now begun the process of repairing and customizing the cab. here are the pictures. http://i353.photobucket.com/albums/r...ps64dcdf4b.jpg http://i353.photobucket.com/albums/r...psf0cae7ed.jpg http://i353.photobucket.com/albums/r...psa3138aff.jpg http://i353.photobucket.com/albums/r...psa7682690.jpg http://i353.photobucket.com/albums/r...ps8603a46b.jpg http://i353.photobucket.com/albums/r...ps1fbb97bc.jpg http://i353.photobucket.com/albums/r...psaa9c79f4.jpg |

The truck looks great so far! This is the same body that was at Ironworks im assuming? Are you guys using the front end that was already built? And why not just have the truck dipped an e coated? I cant wait to see more of this!

As for the having it blasted? We had a situation a few years back where we had dipped and coated a car. after the car was painted some remnants from the dipping caused it to eat the paint around spot weld seams and had to have it all redone. They use a plastic media to blast it. Also that is why we had to remove the inner cab structure, so it could be blasted internally and properly remove all of the cancer. |
Nice work!!!

Am i to guess u are goin to change the rear cab roll to eliminate the cab seam and smooth that roll out...Somewhere I saw this to late to do mine...was it u who makes that piece or someone else???.......jim (calling u in am about cowls)
|
All of the new metal on the back of the cab that you see in the pictures will be just as it is when the chop is done. At this point, all we have to do is cut and lower the roof to meet the new window height.
Yes we make the cowl panels. Ask for Justin when you call. |

Just glad we have the means to do what we love. |
Tad bit of a delay because of the holidays, but here's a few more shots.
The back is all finished, and now we are getting around to the firewall. Not a whole lot left on the cab. http://i353.photobucket.com/albums/r...ps574157b4.jpg http://i353.photobucket.com/albums/r...psbda815aa.jpg http://i353.photobucket.com/albums/r...ps6c3edb05.jpg http://i353.photobucket.com/albums/r...ps4f392ca5.jpg |
