Which shifter to use?
What shifter do you guys prefer to use to shift the t56 transmission?
|
I have 3 cars with T56 trans and I run Pro5.0 in all of them,
|
I just received my MGW shifter. I haven't used it since I'm still building the car but it gets great reviews and it definitely has a high build quality.
FYI, MGW only sells direct. |

Pro 5.0 is a little notchy and can transmit some noise inside the car.
Hurst are cheap and better than stock. B&M Ripper you can't remove the stick. MGW is the best one I've ever used. |
I went with the MGW from hearing such great reviews along ways from using it tho.

Car crazy are we lol.

Hmm I still have the Hurst shifter... maybe I need to look into the MGW.
|
I've tried the stock Tremec, White Lightning, and the first-gen Hurst Blackjack and now have the newer gen Hurst Magnum shifter. No complaints at all with the Hurst. Short tight positive throws and nicely machined with quality components.
|
Sieg, when did the latest gen Hurst come out? Just curious if that is the one I have. I bought my T56 from Hurst Drivelines in late 2011.

I bought a Core shifter with a 7.5" Hurst chrome stick and it has worked great since day one.

Darned expensive though. It's cheaper just to get the shifter cup if you want to go that way. I found that part for under $60 so my MGW, going onto my GTO transmission cost me $250 (5% forum discount). I was worried in might be a PITA to change the shifter cup but it literally took 5 minutes. |
Pro 5.0 is the way to go.
