LS7 dry sump tank
Other than the stock and Peterson LS7 tank I'm thinking of building my own tank to better fit my Camaro. I remember seeing a tank IIMuch built and maybe Ironworks? That fit the passenger bulkhead. Is there anything special about the insides of the tanks or measurements of the baffles or even angles of the return line? I want to keep it right around 11q or so and there is enough room for it.

Do some digging on www.aviaid.com they have some drawing, baffles, inserts, diagrams etc all pertaining to the ls7 oil systems . Could also go the route I probably will and just convert it to ls3 wet sump and not have to worry about cost, oil lines everywhere and possibly oil cavitation. Plus you'll gain a few hp with a wet sump

Is this what you are thinking? This is on JA 2.0. Don't know how they did the inside.

[QUOTE=CamaroAJ;634660]I haven't seen that one before. I was thinking IIMuch and Ironworks were squared off and fit in place following the stock body lines.[/QUOTE
I bet that unit has a separation baffle from the round area to the box on the side. I have never heard anything good about square dry sump tanks. The one we put in the cowl of my Camaro was round. http://i616.photobucket.com/albums/t...ust2009156.jpg |

actually on this motor with a stock set-up yes it is quite true ...one of the major magazines tested a ls7 and then swapped it over ...actually it could have even been horsepower tv ...regardless it was somewhere in the 7-11 hp range correction 3-4 hp thru the rpm range heres the link http://www.hotrod.com/how-to/engine/...mp-conversion/ |

At least hook up the driver side so you can drive it if the weather goes bad.And it does rain ,and rain hard.It even snows down there. I know because I was stationed down there for five years while in the Marine Corps.http://s1064.photobucket.com
