BIG PROBLEMS- RideTech MuscleBar

1 Attachment(s)
My muscle bar seems to be too long

I took some measurements and I need to compare

Factory Front Frame Rail Width is 41 3/8"
Mine measure 41.5" (even better for this situation)

The bar has welded bushing retainers in each end about 4.5" from the ends
The Inside Welded Washer to Washer Width = 29" is this right???

The sway bar seems to be either welded wrong or the bar is the wrong length. Please help.

Need some help here. Pretty concerned.

is it possible that you have the bushings and such on the wrong side of the welded washers....?

I asked RideTech and he said they are to be on the outside. I can understand why as it keeps the bar from walking

My Savitske frame brace went in without drama. I don't understand why this is happening to me

Get some better pics and send them to ride tech or post them on here

Are the guys at Ridetech helping you? They can supply you with the dimensions etc you need.

Don

They said they would get back to me Monday when I called to day. I think they were hosting an event and were busy. Bummer for me.

The instructions state the bar is 38.75 Total Length. I confirmed this length.

I don't understand my frame measures factory spec, it doesn't fit. This is a nightmare. What sway bar will the strong arms work with?

SSLance 05-06-2016 06:51 PM

Is the other side bolted up in those pics? I don't have a 70 Chevelle, so measuring mine won't help. It's either something simple or they sent you the wrong center piece. See if it'll line up with the bushings on the outside of the alignment rings?

Take the bushings back off the bar and hold it up to the frame plates, center it and see where things land.

Will do!

I mean the bar is the correct length as per stated in the instruxtions 38.75"

Check this out in the morning. Should have it mocked up with better pics

Shiner 05-07-2016 05:53 AM

Don't laugh but I loosened the other side and mocked it up without the bushings and kept the bracket bolts loose and it looks like its gonna work. I may have posted this prematureuly but I will keep you posted if I have success. Fingers crossed.
