Killer exhaust! Motor seems a little over the top but looks Killer as well, of course if goes with the theme!

Datsbad 09-06-2006 08:52 PM

I wanted to do Fuels exhaust just like that with v-band clamps but ran out of time. Nows its done and what is on it works great !

Speedster 09-07-2006 05:35 AM

Sweet ride. Let's see what it looks like when completed...
That motor is killer.

Payton King 09-07-2006 07:35 AM

I forgot to add...

It is going to have A/C as well

MaxHarvard 09-07-2006 09:00 AM

Holy hell! that would be killer to drive on the street!! ME WANT!

69Nova 09-07-2006 09:18 AM

Sweet car. Atleast we know he has the ability to drive the hell out of it.

Rob07002 09-07-2006 11:01 AM

Awsome car indeed!

I wonder if Chad will put an illegal spoiler on it?

jsr69 09-07-2006 11:11 AM

OK. I knew I had seen pictures of it completed at one time.

Yeah I was kinda confused. But now I get it.

race-rodz 09-07-2006 11:41 PM

ok....lets see if i understand this. they took some super throw down 800+ SB2 built by some special nascar guy....... then they ripped it apart to "detune" it, so they could have a decent street motor. i guess i just dont "get-it".

Payton King 09-08-2006 06:26 AM

Well it is like this...

A Cup motor tuned to make 815 hp and turn 10,000 rpms is a little peaky for street driving, not to mention the fact it idles at almost 2 grand. They are hard to drive around the garage area much less the street. Jimmy also would not like to keep barrels of race gas at his houses. I would say a pump gas street motor that makes 650 hp would be good enough. The car is going to have a/c as well. He is not trying to build another race car as he has a whole stable of those at his disposal.

Huxsol81 09-10-2006 06:58 PM

Cool looking ride for sure!

Musclerodz 09-10-2006 10:35 PM

Danica Patrick, now Jimmie Johnson, what well known driver is next to get on the Camaro bandwagon? :faint: At least it isn't a '69.

Mike

Mike

You can add Jeff Gordon and Dale Jr. to the list, I think they both have 1st gen Camaros in their garage.

rocketman 09-11-2006 11:08 AM

I have seen Dale jr's it's a 68 I think with a sb2 also,but I think it efi,I haven't seen it in awhile,so i don't remember all the details

B Schein 09-11-2006 05:18 PM

This is going to be a pretty badass car I worked for Jim Ptigrew (If you didn’t read the article Scott wrote that’s whose shop it is at) Saturday and we rehung the front sheet metal to start construction of the dry sump oil tank. I have should have some update pictures next weekend.

projekt70chevelle 05-15-2007 12:11 PM

any news....

buickfunnycar.com 05-15-2007 02:20 PM

Well that's certainly impressive:unibrow: ...makes my 554hp 383 stroker look like chopped liver.:wow:

Love the exhaust!

Payton King 05-15-2007 02:45 PM

Car got held up in paint jail just like everyone

else. Jim Pettigrew is suppose to pick it up some time this week and bring it back for final assembly. The motor is not back from Hendrick yet, so he is going to do everthing else while he waits.

Once the car is back, I will take some progress shots.
