winter projects done

As spring is here, I thought I'd throw up an update on my winter's mods.
Thanks to the violent exit of the driveshaft at the dragstrip last fall, I have a new 8.5" posi rear, alluminum driveshaft, and slide-a-link traction bars. Thanks to an out of control camber situation that trashed the inside edge of my Eagle F1's, I got G/W lower arms & SC&C adjustable uppers and some hotchkiss springs. Wile I was detailing underneath, I found some rust, which led to buying and learning to use a welder, replacing one side of the floor, and welding on a set of Hotchkiss SFC's. While the exhaust system was off, I cleaned it and painted it, and lost the flow 40's for a set of Borlas (they sound soooo sweet!) And... I can finally stop, thanks to a full set of Wilwood disk brakes! Here's a lil eye candy: |
very nice work Jim!

Did you paint your rear rotor hats black? I think I am going to do that with my Wilwood rotors.

Thanks Jody!
Yea, I didn't want em rusting in there, so I just masked em off and shot em with some rustoleum 7777. |
Great job Jim!!!

Thanks Anthony. With real brakes I think I finally qualify for the PT club, tho she ain't nuttin like some of the projects you guys got going.
Here's a couple shots of the whole car. These were taken before I put the hotchkiss springs on, the 4x4 look is gone now, front is 2" lower. |
Yep, you're in the club now!!
Very clean car! Love the house too!! Your car is a perfect reminder of what protouring is all about, updated American iron! Have fun with it this summer!! :)

the thing that caught my eye Jim, is how neatly organized and detailed the car is. It doesn't cost much if any more to do this, and yet really makes a car stand out. Many people miss that when they put a car together.

Thanks again, guys! Detailing is important to me, and I'm glad you noticed.
Hehe, and don't get me going on the house... Another project of mine.. She's a 4500 square foot timber frame on a 1 acre wooded lot. After a decade of dreaming, and a year of planning, designed from a blank sheet of paper by my Wife, myself, and our architect, we broke ground in Novenber of 2000, and raised the frame in February of 01. In August we moved in. (we ran out of money in July.) We had 2 working toilets, and those bathrooms had the only doors in the house! I had to seriously sweet talk the building inspector to get an occupancy permit. Over the next 5 years, I finished her with my own hands. I did all the finish electrical & plumbing, all the tile, kitchens and bathrooms, everything. Here's a couple of my favorite pics. Unfortunately I don't have any now, with everything done and the landscaping grown up. The pic of Carol and I under the bare timber frame says it all for me. |
Wow, beautiful home, Jim!
And no, I won't be showing you house pics to my wife. :_paranoid  |
very nice!
