Battery Tender- yes/no with EFI
 

Ok maybe its kind of a dumb question, should I be concerned about using a Battery Tender and having the battery connected to my EFI hardware(XFI) and MSD etc. The idea here is to trickle charge the battery and not have to disconnect the terminals right? Too much invested in electronics to blow, your thoughts?

Motorcycles use battery tenders all the time and most of them are EFI'd. I have a battery tender and I put a voltmeter on it a while back and it puts out 13.5~14V. Nothing to worry about.

Yes, absolutely use a battery tender with EFI, just make sure you don't have the ignition on when you connect or disconnect it. I work for a GM Dealer and we have spent thousands of dollars replacing fried modules on vehicles that either had the battery go dead and were then jump started with the key on, or someone hooked up a battery charger with the key on. If the battery tender is hooked up with the ignition off, then you should be good to go. Get one that automatically monitors the voltage/charge and adjusts so that it doesn't overcharge.

We use the Ctek product on all cars that spend time at the shop, dead batteries suck...............
