Road course setup advice/tips please

I posted on PT as well, but here goes.

I'm doing my first road course on Sat and need some advice on what I can do to set my 69' up.

I'm runnig QA1 coilovers up front with a Hotchkis sway bar, regular QA1 shocks out back with Hotchkis leafs and GW del a lum solid bushings.

17" wheels all around with BFG's, manual steering, Baer brakes and Speed Tech upper and lower control arms.

Questions...
What should I set the shocks to?
What psi in the tires?

Any other tips are also appreciated!

Just wanted to say that if you don't have a RR oil pan you could be asking for trouble! Dan (conekiller13) lost a new crate 350 due to running a standard pan...yeah an expensive lesson!!

The big thing with a stock type oil pan is losing oil pressure in a extended turn. If you have a stock type pan I would put a extra quart of oil in. One quart should still leave you below the crank. If you have a oil pressure guage, pay attention to the pressure in a extended turn when you get a chance to glance at it.

Don't try to set any records, just get a feel for the car. If you can, ride with a instructor and have one ride with you. There are usually volunteer instructors to help newcomers. I remember my first track day, try to relax and have fun.
I have no idea on your shock or tire settings.

I assume you checked the car over for any loose nuts, belts etc, over flow bottle on the radiator, two throttle return springs. Torque your lugnuts and bring a torque wrench and retorque after a track session.

Thanks guys

I have gone over the car and aside from not having an overflow bottle everything should be okay. I plan on taking it easy and just have fun for my first time out. There is another session in Sept, and if everything goes smooth on Sat I'll try a better my lap times then.:unibrow:

You will have a blast. I'm headed to Utah to Miller Motorsports Park this weekend for the Shelby convention. Maybe I can break something.

Charley,
What car are you taking and What are you hoping to break?:D LOL!

Taking two Shelbys and a Mustang. I will be taking one Shelby and the Mustang on the track. Third one is just to display.

Where did you get the headlight covers?

They look great.
