Roof Skin Insulation

Can/should roof skin insulation be placed between the roof skin and braces on a 1st gen Camaro? I'm getting the roof skin replaced and thouht that I would o ahead and insulate it while it was off. I plan on sanding the EDP off and spraying it with epoxy primer and possibly some undercoating. Then I was thinking of putting isulation between the skin and braces. What does everyone think?

Leave the EDP alone. There is no need to sand it off. IF you have to prime it simply scuff it a bit with ScotchBrite and shoot the primer. I would insulate after the installation. There is no benefit from going under the braces and you will see no difference in sound quality.
