3pt belt w/ 5pt option

I need to start thinking out interior ideas for my pt fastback. What I am thinking of doing is running 3 pt belts until I go to the track, then install the cross bar for the 5 pt belts. Does anyone have any pics of cars which have this. Trying to stay away from the super race look. Thanks guys

you need a cage for 5 points no real track will let you run 5 points with out one

seat belt/cage dilemma

I know this is a highly debated topic. But, surely there are others in the same boat as me. A welded in cross bar isn't even an option for me. I guess I could build individual seat hoops like the Ring Brothers have done. Ideas anyone? Pics anyone?

Forgot something.
I also would like to know if anyone has seen seats that are strong enough to have a harness built into the seat? It will not matter that this is not track legal because it will be around a 11.5 second ride.

like i have said with out a cage you wreck wearing them youll break your back. a weld in crossbar will break off in a wreck.the ring brothers build show cars they do the 5 points for the looks theres wouldnt hold up in a wreck.

why not run a 4 point roll cage with a removable cross bar...

I agree, that is what I need to do. But since I do not want the cross bar in all the time, wouldn't I need a traditional 3 pt setup for the street? Or is there a way I could run the harness up over the seat and down back side and have it anchored to the floor for street driving. Then move the anchor point to the removable cross bar when racing? I need to study how these harnesses are built. There is also an option of running seats with integrated seat belts for the street. There are not many out there that look very good in their stock form though.

well the easiest way would be to only run lap belts when you dont have the cross bar in. since the shoulder belt attach to the cross bar, they would just go out with the bar and you could just leave the lap section attached. or you could go though the hassel of ubolting the 3 point every time to race the car

mounting the shoulder belts to the floor is not a good idea you wreck youll break your back or wish you did either run a cage or dont get the 5 points its that easy.
