Raised Intake Ports?
Can someone explain cylinder heads with raised intake ports, their benefits and what type of intake manifolds are required to run these types of heads. Thanks in advance.

The higher the intake port, the less of a bend there is going into the cylinder. Anytime you can lessen the transition between the valve seat and combustion chamber/cylinder, you'll get more airlfow and less tumble.
That's a simplification of it anyway... Intake selection will vary. Some heads/marques have matching intakes, some require welding and grinding of existing intakes, some require sheetmetal intakes. |
I just puchased a set of raised intake port heads and was just doing some homework on what good intakes work with them. I have a Edelbrock Performer RPM and some people say it will work with the heads and some say it wont.

but better off with a victor intake or similar |
