Do you have a vented cap?
|
I ordered my tank from Rick's Hot Rod Shop with a vent line that will be getting a charcoal canister attached to keep the fumes in check. I'd go that route.

Scott,
Do you have a part # for that canister? Trying to track one down myself |
I caped off the vent tube and ran a vented cap..
Had a hell of a time trying find a charcoal canister and the gas kept sloshing out the vent tube (bad location).. |

I have a custom Rock Valley tank in my EFI 427 small block 56 Nomad -- and always smelled like gas in the garage after cruising... I've done everything I could think of to figure out where the "smell" was originating from.... now you guys have given me a clue! Never thought about the vent tube - and I have an UNVENTED O ringed thread cap! DUH!

Canister
Greg, did you find or add a charcoal canister yet. I spoke with Hector and Ricks hotrods where I bought my fuel tank. Awesome piece of work . He said it was a must to limit that fuel smell. I haven't yet picked up a canister or figured how to install it. I guess I will need to run a vacuum line to the rear of the vehicle or a vent line to the front of the vehicle. either way I will have to run a long line in one direction.
