Recipe for Pro-Touring
Here is one way to whip a fresh Pro-Touring basket of goodies:
Take one 67 Camaro- http://www.pro-touring.com/~tylerb/5.jpg Shake well, until all loose, old, crusty suspension falls out- http://www.pro-touring.com/~tylerb/6.jpg http://www.pro-touring.com/~tylerb/7.jpg Add two parts of Wayne Due suspension- http://www.pro-touring.com/~tylerb/8.jpg Put Wayne Due sub on a flat sheet- http://www.pro-touring.com/~tylerb/10.jpg Dump contents of 67 Camaro onto subframe- http://www.pro-touring.com/~tylerb/11.jpg Take 1 tall deck big block, 2 engine plates, and a McLeod modular bellhousing and sprinkle them onto the front end- http://www.pro-touring.com/~tylerb/12.jpg http://www.pro-touring.com/~tylerb/13.jpg (Note some firewall clearance may be needed. In case of engine setback, subsitute factory pedal mounting with Tilton unit) http://www.pro-touring.com/~tylerb/14.jpg For optimal results, place engine behind front axle centerline- http://www.pro-touring.com/~tylerb/15.jpg For a topper, try adding a set of 20x10 and 20x13 wheels- http://www.pro-touring.com/~tylerb/16.jpg When placing in oven, make sure oil pan does not hang below frame rails- http://www.pro-touring.com/~tylerb/17.jpg Take Wayne Due brackets and place welder on tack for 15 min- http://www.pro-touring.com/~tylerb/18.jpg http://www.pro-touring.com/~tylerb/19.jpg http://www.pro-touring.com/~tylerb/20.jpg Blend Guldstrand components- http://www.pro-touring.com/~tylerb/21.jpg Slide rear into sheet with Camaro and Subframe- http://www.pro-touring.com/~tylerb/22.jpg Serve with loads of horse power- http://www.pro-touring.com/~tylerb/23.jpg That's all for this edition of Cooking with ATS . I like looking at pretty pictures. Thanks. Where do the forward links of the rear suspension mount? I assume you will open up the firewall, yes?
|
The 4 link portion mounts to a bracket not yet welded in. It goes between the frame rail and the inner fender.
The firewall and tunnel will be removed for this car. It is coming along nicely. As soon as the other 3 wheels/tires show, I'll pop it on the ground for a nice look, then off to the body shop for a few months. Tyler |
Cool!...I those half shafts are ready for battle against the torque of that big block!....nice work.
|
I have a pair of Carbon Fiber half shafts on the way, along with full Guldstrand camber kit, 4 link bars, and tie rods. It will hold as long as those 20 wheels never hook!

Excellent....will really be a neat car when completed.

Very nice Tyler. Awesome work.
