Anyone using Heidts or Competition engineering subframe connectors?

I am looking at getting either Heidts or competition engineering bolt-in subframe connectors for my 1973 Z28. Is anyone using either of these brand subframe connectors?
Any pics of the install to show how well they fit would be appreciated.

Thanks
Paul

I haven't seen the Heidt's parts installed, but I have seen the Competition Engineering parts installed. I don't like how low they hang. I would assume that the Heidt's parts do the same thing as they are bolt-on. I know the Global West connectors and the Alston Racing connectors don't hang as low, but they're tubular in design and I'm still not the biggest fan of either. My personal favorites are weld in and require cutting into the floor of the car. They're the DSE parts. I have them for my car and only have to install them.

Yeah, I agree that if the subframe connectors hang down too far, they just look bad.I also prefer square tube to round tube. I'm looking for something that fits up tighter against the floor but without welding to the floor. May end up just buying some connectors and modifying them(cutting them up and re-welding them) to get the fit that I want unless I can find another option.

Heidts connectors

I am using the Heidts connectors on Re-Peeled my 70 Camaro project. They are closer to the floor than the competition ones & are not as tall.

I had the Competition Engineering, they were ok, they did hang too low, but really did help the car stiffness wise. The DSE's were the ones that made the huge difference.

Randy,
Could you post some pictures of the subframe connectors on your car to give an idea of how they look installed ?

Thanks
Paul

Thanks for posting the pic of the subframe connector install. Seeing it gave me another question though. The mounting bolts at the rear of the connector that go up into the rear frame rail, are they going through existing holes in the rear rail section or drilled through the rail and up into the floor ? Oh and do you have some side profile shots with the car on the hoist ?

Thanks for any help with this.
Paul
